Only down fall is the 3 pair of snips are not labeled nor dose any kind of paper stating what each tool is and used for. Over all good product is good. The case is nice clear see through and durable also. Happy with the product

Pat. H: I bought this for the price and for the small paddle thingy. I buy a lot of succulents and remove the soil they come in to replant in Bonsai Jacks gritty mix because it has better drainage. I just bought my first bonsai tree, a portulacaria afra aka mini jade although it is not from the jade family, and wanted to have some small tools to use on it. This kit looks ok for what I needed, but I didn't expect anything fancy at this price. The rake is much too flimsy for taking dirt from roots when reporting but the paddle should work well for the. The rake is perfect for scratching my 🐱's back and chin, she loves it. The snippeers seem to be sharp and easy to use. I'm not sure what the bamboo sticks are for--poking holes in the dirt I suppose. I ordered a stainless steel rake separately for raking the dirt from roots but for the price this is a cute little set.

Martha Stanley: I have a large outside container garden that gets weeds from the lawn mower blowing seeds and such into the pots. I needed something to help me weed those pots and I found this set. It is quite nice.
The small, metal rake is exactly what I wanted. The tines are sharp enough, and the handle is the right size and easy to grasp. I even turn the tool upside down and use the handle to dig/pry little roots up sometimes. It fits handily in my pots and in my hand.
The other tool would be good if I were still doing bonsai, but I haven't used it yet. The handle is sturdy.
The little bamboo rake is smile-producing and I'm thinking of gluing a pinback to it and using it as jewelry. It is ornamental and cute only - not functional.
The metal tools appear to be carbon steel and so therefore need to be cleaned off after use and would benefit from being lightly wiped down with an oily rag too.
Carbon steel rusts like mad; there are NOT stainless steel. The design makes them easy to clean. No big deal. I like quality tools and these count as quality tools.
I think the quality is just fine and have no problem recommending them.

Michael Wilde: I don't know what these were originally intended for, but I use them for trimming medicinal cannabis at harvest. These won't work on stems, but I don't think they were supposed to be used that way (title says "leaf" trimmers). These are ideal for trimming large amounts of small leaves very quickly.
These are small - about 4 inches long. I've done a lot of trimming and I think it's more important to match the blade to the application than to match it to your hand size. It's kind of like tweezers or clothespins - we don't make those in different sizes to match people's hands. They are sized for the application for which they were designed.
These are really nice for herb harvesting and manicuring. The pouch they came in was not of good quality and I didn't keep it, but it did a fine job of protecting them during shipping. After harvest, these trimmers cleaned up fine and I slide them inside an old paper towel tube and folded up the ends.
I don't know how long they will stay sharp, but for this price I can consider them disposable and I won't hesitate to buy more when these get dull.
Update 3/25/14:
These trimmers have made it through another harvest....
