Willy J McWilly J Mc: I watched good video demos about this guitar and ordered one. Then I saw the pictures of scratches, chips and smudges do to the lousy packaging. This guitar travelled 2 countries and 4 different couriers and the box (flimsy) looks like it was hand carried the whole distance. HATS OFF TO THE COURIERS. The photos show some marking at the bind and some glue that can be cleaned on the strap button.Of course it needs some intonation and maybe truss, but am fully capable of that and I’d have to insane to complain. The couriers get the 1st star.

Christopher Douglas: First, let me say...ignore most of the reviews. Most person's giving them are not professionals. I am. As well, I'm a Luthier. I had a master's degree by the time I was 12 years old. I am 60 and have been playing musical instruments since I was 3. This guitar is basically perfect. I would have given it 5 stars. But the frets are a little rough. The hardware is above average. Compared it to an Epiphone of similar make up. When your looking at paying 8 times more for a name brand of lesser quality. You're just paying for a name. The pickups are CNC wound alnico type. So your getting very good pickups (Destiny is the brand), not cheaper made ceramic pickups. This guitar is fit for professional touring. It weighs 5.8 lbs. Incredible. It is beautiful...and very playable out of the box (except you will have to tune it and I recommend string swapping) buy one. You won't be disappointed!

Amélie Jeanne Chagnon-Fathé: I got this for my boyfriend's birthday. He's been taking lessons for a year and has been eyeing every jazz guitar in sight for the longest time. I'm a classical double bassist and opera singer and play a little guitar myself, but only acoustic. I didn't know much about electric guitars, but I researched them for a couple months before picking this one and it didn't disappoint. My boyfriend's teacher, who's been a professional guitarist for 15 years was very impressed with the quality and said it rivaled some of his guitars worth 2k-3k. He's actually thinking of buying one too. Plus, it's absolutely beautiful.

Helen: The guitar itself is very good for its price. Sounds good, pleasant in hands. But the quality of strings is not the best. When we received the guitar and tried to play it, the string was torn just after several passages. Need to order new strings.

Robert Richard ( guitar teck ): In my case I found that the sound is poor , it is not a JAZZ guitar and components were the same as you get with the other ( rock ) guitars they make ! It is not a bad guitar if you change the tuners. But it is a poor jazz guitar ! the acoustic resonance is not good! the smaller IYV PRS-Style Semi-Hollow Sunburst Finish with life vine is a way better guitar with good acoustic sound ! So sent this one back because I have 3 other IYV guitars That are better sounding ! and is me my taste my take on it ! I used a jazz chorus 120 to test it !
Note: If you want a 335 style it is not bad But a 335 is not a JAZZ guitar ! I never returned a guitar from amazon before but no upgrade would make that guitar a Jazz guitar! a good guitar yes a JAZZ NO !!!

Chris Soares: I’ve had four of these guitars. Each guitar had its unique problems. None worthy of being returned. I will be upfront that this is not a good first or second guitar because it does have issues when it comes to material quality and basic set up primarily in the tuners, bridge, switch and neck that affect playability and can be easily fixed if you know what you’re doing. Each guitar is absolutely beautiful and unique in it’s finish. Each Guitar had some type of finishing problem either on it’s bindings, f holes or hairpin holes in the finish. Again nothing worthy of returning this product at the price that you purchase at. At this price point you are getting a beautiful mahogany set neck jazz guitar with complete binding front back neck and head. May have some minor flaws but the necks and bodies are computer cut perfectly. The finishing is where minor flaws come in to play. Sticking your finger in an f hole will reveal a completely unfinished internal body, very messy and may require some sanding or repair under the F hole binding. Overall electronics are decent for this price point. The pick ups on all guitars were matched and sounded fine but weren’t very powerful. The...

Matthew HartmanMatthew Hartman: I've been playing for 46 years, used to play an American-made Strat (and Fender Mustang) and was until this purchase strictly acoustic after "unplugging" about 12 years ago. I have a Martin Custom Shop HD-28, a 1998 Taylor 914ce, a Yamaha 12-string and until recently owned an Ovation Custom Legend C779LX that used to belong to Matt Sorum. Most of my guitars have had some upgrade work done by me, so I'm familiar with guitars.

About this IYV IJZ-300 TSB:

The packaging was........not good. It's amazing that any of these guitars make it through the shipping process w/out any damage. On first inspection, I really liked the finish and appearance so was determined to keep it, though my guitar had the typical fit/finish issues outlined in many other reviews. There was a gap in the first fret marker between the white pearloid and "abalone" that I filled with a filed down white pearloid Dunlop Medium pick, set with super thin CA glue, then sanded and polished (all fret markers got polished with Simichrome). The jury's out on whether it's real abalone or not, but I have TONS on my Taylor, and the stuff on my IYV has a similar iridescence I've not seen on faux abalone. The...

Gary: These were sold out when I began my search for a budget semi-hollow guitar, too bad for me because I bought and returned 4 others, all red and I won't name them. Right out of the box I knew this may be a keeper, it was way better packed than others from Asia and except for a small chip [which I carefully sanded out] on the binding at the sharp point of the cut out it is in excellent condition. The buffing on the poly finish is rather poor, many tiny scratches because not enough time could be spent at the factory at this price to give a perfect finish; you can only see them close up and no big deal. It took me 3 hours of fret leveling [I have the proper tools and know how] and polishing, fret board oil and cleaning, change of strings, nut filed to improve intonation at 1st fret, I installed a String Butler [I had one on hand] tuned her up and gave her a go. What I have now is a perfectly acceptable, great looking guitar at a budget price, I have had a Godin 5th Ave Montreal in my lap and this fits my body just as well, of course we can not compare it to the quality of a Godin but for $2000 less and my playing ability this will do nicely.
