SueBeeRow: Very easy to assemble. Rubber legs makes it hard to push around. Door works really well. We are so glad we bought this. New puppy - wasn’t quite prepared for what we were in store for. Once we received this pen and set up in our living room, stress level went from a 9 to a 3-4. It has been a god send.

Artjunkeeper: Couldn't ding the IRIS Co. for this issue. Purchased my first two sets of the Iris 8 panel Pet Pen elsewhere a couple years ago. They've held up fabulously. Now I want to expand to a larger playground area as I've now purchased an RV & have ordered two more sets from Amazon via the separate returned item/repackaged product at a sweet price. (Spoiled pups) Arrived separately, in immaculate condition with the exception the first was missing the package of screws, hinges and latches for the door. HEY SOMEBODY IN REPACKAGING...look to see if you've got an extra set on hand and send it out to me. I've got a big hole where a door goes!!! Thanks to the delivery person for hauling that size heavy package up the stairs...twice.

LJ Nowak: I love everything about this pen. I bought one years ago and it's still in great shape. When I needed something similar, I didn't hesitate to buy another. However, while it was supposed to ship Amazon prime, and I had every expectation that it would show up conveniently at my door, for some reason it went through USPS, and they made me come to the post office to pick it up. Mind you, we live in the country, and USPS routinely delivers largish packages that don't fit in mailboxes and leaves them outside our garage. I don't know what was special about this one but thank goodness I have a pickup truck.

Thelma Wooldridge: I purchased the first playpen 6 years ago for a new puppy. It was wonderful, it looks good (still, after 6 years) altho I no longer use it as a playpen, it is great shape and has held up perfectly, no cracking or fading, no disintegration, etc. I am super pleased with the quality of this Made in the the USA product.
This year, I wanted to keep my dogs out of my garden while I was gone, but I didn't want permanent fencing or gates. I had the original playpen, that can also be used as a fence, (sort of) without permanently attaching it. But it wasn't quite long enough, so I ordered another that is EXACTLY the same as the original!! I love that!! So, I connected the two, which I must say lined up perfectly and created the fence to keep the dogs from my garden. I was so happy to be able to do this with minimal cost, compared to permanent fencing.
The only downside of this product is you have to disassemble every other panel for it to fold and put away... otherwise there is no real problems with any aspect of this playpen or in my case, fence.
When I received the playpen, two of the end caps on the connecting rods were broken. I contacted IRIS USA re: replacement on friday, 2...

JBugJBug: I had previously purchased a shorter play pen, but my dog learned how to jump over it to get out. I wanted a taller version so this item fit my needs. Most of the tall play pens have a raised area at the gated entrance for taller dogs. Sadly, that area would catch on the little boy parts of my Basset Hound, so they wouldn't work. Although my puppy has short legs, his body is over 3 feet long so he has REACH!

I love the gate on this play pen because it goes down to pretty much ground level. I gave it four stars because I have two things I'm not happy with...

My biggest complaint is the latching mechanism on the gate. My dog has figured out how to charge the gate with his nose to pop the latch. Yes, I tighten the thumb screws on the latches, but in about half hour, he's out of the pen. I'm currently using Velcro fastening tapes to try to stop the escape attempts. So far, that's working. Fingers crossed!
The other complaint is the assembly required to attach the gate to the panel. The instructions are NOT super clear. It would be helpful if some, or all, pieces were pre assembled for the price paid. I'm handy, so I was able to do it, but it was a pain! Also the tiny...

Amazon Customer: This pen was exactly what we needed. When our puppy was young we used the full size of it and as he began to potty train we were able to slowly remove panels to make it smaller. Now our puppy is 9 months and we split it into two small pens, one for the main floor and one for upstairs. At one point we used some of the panels to block off an area of the house.

This pen is very versatile and can change shape to however you need it. The high walls worked perfectly for our miniature pinscher who can jump almost 4 feet straight up.

The materials are tough and can hold up to puppies trying to eat their way out. LOL. My puppy has been trying for more than 6 months now and it is holding strong.

The downside is that the larger the pen, the less sturdy it is against dogs leaning or jumping on it and because it isn’t secured to anything, my pup is able to move it a bit. Most of that was solved when we were able to make it one panel squared but he can still move it when he gets overexcited but the shape holds up better.

I highly recommend this playpen. It is excellent, at least for smaller dogs. I am not sure it would do well with larger dogs though, unless it was...

KathyKathy: The playpen is very useful to keep my puppy in check plus he feels secure in it. The 8 panels are sufficient except when it came and was easy to assemble, one of the panel is already damaged but still I can use it for the purpose of keeping my puppy in to play and sleep. Not sure how I can have the damaged panel returned without the hassle as 7 panels for the time being may be insufficient as I may want two more extra panels. Not sure if the replacement is fast or else I may lose the effectiveness of this play pen that is not that cheap. Please suggest

As for comments about flimsyness, see the pictures that show you how NOT to place the pen and how it's meant to be placed. Any shape resembling a square or rectangle DOES NOT WORK and that makes sense, the sides will fall in, can be reinforced with some wood or wire run around the outside. This is not the manufacturers fault, its common sense. The pen stands quite rigid on vinyl with the rubber feet attached. Also attached are closeups on the door components, in case you cant understand the instructions, as they are just written text and no pictures. The hinges self center when installed correctly (pin down). Assembles very fast and super easy, looks great and is exactly what we wanted! The white can be spruced up quite easily, with decorations and such. I love how quickly you can fold it up and move it or change size by adding or removing panels! Literally takes 4 seconds!

Sarah: Gave a 4 star only because it was not as sturdy as i was hoping. I have a 7 month old 6 pound chiweenie and he easily pushes the edges of the pen around. We put it in an octagonal shape with 1 edge against the wall, but i was hoping it was a touch more heavy duty.

The only other thing to not is because of the tiny gate... and me being 5 ft 1... i have to take a pole out in order to get at his food and water. We needed the oen to be tall so we are happy. I just let my husband reach over because he is taller.

Overall good product. Great for our puppy since it gives him more space. Plus easy for us to have him in it during the day while we are at work or eating a meal
