GridUserGridUser: We used to have a switch on the wall next to the sink to run our garbage disposer. It was conveniently placed and was causing absolutely no trouble at all. But I always fretted about wet fingers, sometimes fingers wet with grease or dissolved food products, touching an electrical switch. So when we got new countertops, I decided to look into a safer, even MORE convenient way to turn the disposer on and off. The "air switch" was the logical choice, and I chose this model from Sinkingdom.
I researched the topic for several days, and looked at 5-10 different types on Amazon and other websites, before deciding on this one. Sinkingdom makes several different types of air switch, as do the other manufacturers. Most of the ones you'll find are plastic, or have mostly plastic parts. (See an example in the third photo). Almost all the companies, including Sinkingdom, have the kind of switch where the button goes down below the surface of the sink to switch the disposer on and off. (An example of this type can be seen in the 4th picture). These switches have a small, low-profile escutcheon and a cheap-looking plastic button that acts as the switch. Because very little of the button...

l.s.: I have had this air switch for over a year now. It was easy to install and the brass makes this feel very sturdy. I will definitely recommend this to friends and buy it again if in the market for another one!

LouisLouis: Everything needed was supplied and after the hole was drilled into the quartz it took about 30 minutes to install. The quality of the button is very high and the matte black matched perfectly with the faucet. Very impressed!

Joseph D Angell: I give the button 5 stars, but the electronics don't seem to be UL listed, in fact there is no writing of any kind on the casing. This is fine for me, since the moen switch (which broke in about a year) hose works with this one, so I just use my existing electronics and it works perfectly. The button itself is very well made, has nice smooth action and so far no issues with leaking water in the hose etc. Would recommend if you have an existing broken button. Would get 5 stars if the electronics were UL listed and not sketchy.

ShopActionShopAction: There are a lot of options for garbage disposal buttons. I wanted one that looked great, but most importantly, that was easy to push. This button is fantastic! You don't have to try to push a button into a small opening, like most other options. You have a giant button that everyone can see and easily push.
Installation was fairly easy if you have a drill, the correct diamond drill bit, and good instructions. I ordered a 1-1/4 inch diamond drill bit on Amazon and I watched a video on the internet to guide me through the installation. In 20 minutes, I was done.
This is one of the most worthwhile kitchen upgrades we have ever done. For a small investment, this button adds convenience to our lives that we use dozens of times a day. So so worth it!
