InSinkErator RSB-00 Removable Sound Reduction Baffle for Garbage Disposal Units

Hambone99: This fits my InSinkErator Evolution disposal perfectly. It slips right in with ease. I have had other baffles but I really like this one because the water drains so well through it. The center hole is larger than some others I have purchased and this allows the water to drain quicker and it does not back up in the sink. That is important to me. I like this better than the baffle that came with the disposal which I immediately removed and replaced because it did not drain well and was difficult to push waste through. This one is great.

Suzanne Crabtree: This is a really nice, flexible insert for sink garbage disposal. I had purchased one previously, I think at Ace Hardware, and although it fit into the space alright, the rubber was so rigid, food wouldn't even go down into the disposal unless I lifted it out every time to put scraps in. It muffles the noise very well and I am very pleased with my purchase.

tabowers71: I moved into a new apartment with higher water pressure and my sink was filling quicker than it could drain. I even cut the flaps on the original baffle to see if it would improve, to no avail. I just read the reviews here and thought I'd give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. It works! Do it!

Andrew: Like many who own an Insinkerator, we found that over time the rubber deteriorates and get brittle. The one on ours lasted 20 years before getting to the point where it needed replacement. This is an OEM part - hence the much higher price, and fitted in seconds. Hopefully this on will last just as long.

Lorraine: On my 777SS 1 horsepower garbage disposal that I installed well over 10 years ago, the splash guard/gasket wore away a long time ago. I had learned to just stand back or cover it before turning on the switch to avoid getting soaked. Buying so much online now and having plenty of time on my hands, I decided to replace the original gasket. The original splash guard/gasket seals the disposer from underneath to the sink fitting. Replacing that was a task I was not looking forward to, as that would involve removing the disposer, drain pipes and dishwasher feed hose. I spent a lot of time on various parts sites and found what I believe would be the correct original replacement parts for the insinkerator units. They seem to include two different sized gaskets, making sure the customer would for sure have one that fits. Many reviews complain about the waste since one gasket will not be needed, but my guess is that for a few extra cents worth of plastic, in the bigger picture, it is better since so many folks won't have to return to the store and get another part. I came across this "Removable Sound Baffle" RSB-00 that from various comments here, implied that it worked for the 777SS model....

John: The sound baffles on both of our Insinkerator disposals were shot so I was looking for replacements. I found several different possible baffles - there's this one that was claimed to fit everything *except* the Evolution models, the "one piece" gasket version for the "badger" series (this is what our ProSS came with), and the new "anti-microbial super secret special expensive baffle" that "only fit the Evolution series".

There were a ton of reviews, all providing conflicting (mis)information. It was extremely difficult to figure out what was right.

This baffle, the RSB-00, was labeled on the package as working with a wide range of disposals, including our ProSS. The Evolution was *not* listed on the package, even though our Evolution disposal originally came with this baffle!

When we installed it we replaced the original baffle with the anti-microbial one to match the one our older ProSS used, and put the original RSB-00 in a drawer. I compared that baffle with this new RSB-00 and it is identical.

Both the Evolution Essential and ProSS have the same size disposal neck. The RSB-00 installed easily into the Evolution, fitting perfectly over the steel...

Tom Z: Great product! Just slipped in to drain from the top of the sink!. WAY easier than having to remove the garberator beneath the sink and replacing the original one in the drain collar!
