The first day I just put it on to see how it worked. Left it on overnight and the next morning it was under the covers of our bed and our dog was on the floor. After threading the collar through the straps on the inside of the donut like instructed, it has not come off by itself since. I did notice just yesterday, when the ends were under his chin, he was able to lick his paw. But I also don't have it fully inflated either. The collar seems comfortable. He's able to eat, drink, and go outside to potty without it seeming to interfere. I would buy it again.

mickfit: In theory, this product would be incredible! Worked great for a day. Day 2 the zipper broke. Before I could try to fix it my bit the inflatable insert. If it was a little more quality or if it was the inside of the airplane pillows instead of a blow up inflatable it would be perfect. Now its just landfill material.

KaraKara: I think this is a really useful and comfortable way to keep my dog from licking and chewing at himself. He has constantly licked and chewed the furr off his inner thigh and around his butt and at the base of his tail. I think it’s due to anxiety. Nonetheless it won’t heal so I got this to prevent him from licking any further. It definitely prevents him from reaching his inner thigh but he can still reach his butt. Only a little disappointing because at least he will heal his thigh. My dog is 70lbs and I got him the large. It fits perfectly.
Edited to say that after wearing it the first day I realized it looses air quickly. I listened for a hole and could not find one. It doesn’t hold air very well.

Janeen: This item may have saved our sanity this week!!!! Certainly worth the purchase!!!
Got this in a rush order to replace the standard clear plastic e-collar for our 6 month old pup when she got spayed. She still doesn't like it but it is FAR better than the standard plastic option. She can drink and still chew toys with this on and doesn't just stand around looking pitiful. I am unsure how effective it will be overnight preventing licking her stitches as she has a little more movement, but for use during the day when we are around and she is active, this has been very effective so far. I know she can get to her lower body, but she can't seem to lick high enough on her abdomen to get to her surgical site. It is also effective at keeping our other dog at a distance as he is unwilling to try and play with her when she is wearing it (which is an added bonus, as she is not supposed to be playing rough either).

TundrabeastTundrabeast: First the pros. As you see in the pictures here the donut acts like a pillow that she seem comfortable sleeping with. Compared to that big cone they sent home where her head was down in a tunnel. She really hated that…So did I. It’s also not too much of a hindrance when it comes to eating or drinking from her bowels. The cone either needed to be removed or you hand fed the dog and same with water (At least the big cone they sent home.
The cons: My unit was a bugger to blow up because of the nozzle. It’s designed to hold when you stop blowing, but it’s hard to get it right so you can blow air in. I turned red blowing so hard. It also is a real bugger when you want to pull out the plug to either blow more in or let some out.
Also: make sure you get the right size. There’s no adjustments if it is too large of a , but you could loosen it if it’s too small. Mine was snug, but she can pull out if she wants by putting her head in her cage and using the side to hold it while she backs up…Yes! She’s that smart, but fortunately there no outside stitches so she really hasn’t seemed to do much the couple times she has pulled it off
