Glenda Renee Aguilar: It was small and cute. However, it didn’t really keep the chocolate melted that well. It wasn’t a great flow. I think for it to really work great, you have to add a TON of oil or paramount crystals. The taste is really dependent on the chocolate you use, but the more oil or crystals you use, the more the taste changes. It’s durable, after 6 years I still have it. And a bit of a tedious task to clean.

MMV: I purchased this fountain for my kids birthdays. It gets the job done and makes the kids happy. This is not catering hall material for those of you who are complaining! Its $40.00 lets adjust our expectations here. Are we really expecting catering hall quality fountains for this price?! I digress.... Read the instructions!! Melt your product BEFORE HAND. This will keep your (cheese, sauce, chocolate) warm, its not going to melt it. I melt 24 oz of chocolate in the microwave, thin it out with coconut oil and then add to the fountain. It's a hit with the kiddos. I would 100% recommend.

flapjackjoe: My mother-in-law was turning 80 and she LOVES chocolate. I HAD to get this for her party! I read lots of reviews on several similar products. I wanted one that didn't look so "chocolaty" (i.e., brown) in case I wanted to use it for other purposes in the future (you can use it for BBQ sauce, cheese sauce, ranch dressing, etc.). So I eliminated the chocolate-looking ones. I landed on this one, but I admit I also purchased a backup chocolaty one just in case because some of the reviews weren't so great.

My review: GREAT!

My only complaint is delivery time, due to the holiday and the severe weather we're experiencing. But really, I can't complain.

Reading the negative reviews, I have a feeling I know what went wrong with many of them. It either wasn't put together correctly, but more likely, the chocolate wasn't melted properly. The instructions that came with the fountain weren't complete, so I downloaded instructions from the manufacturer. Using those instructions to melt the chocolate yielded what my family referred to as brownies. The chocolate (mind you, not cheap) burned, coagulated as solid clumps.
