ND: I like the cup more than I thought I would. Putting into the grain I wouldn't recommend, but down grain it is very good. Into the grain is not realistic, even for thick slow bermuda.

The wedge for breaks is absolutely useless. Don't buy this if you are expecting practicing you break alignment. Buy it if you want to simulate fast bentgrass at 13 and want a good roll. 11 is also good to see the trace.

Is it worth $100? I'd say so. Way better than the crap you will get spending only $50-$60 on. This product is about alignment and realistic roll. You get that.

Chi: Easy to use and rolls very nicely. The varying speeds is the feature that sold me. That said, the break wedge is pretty much useless though. Also, mine doesn’t appear to be 100% square or the lines are off slightly. When rolled out flatly on a hardwood floor, there appears to be a slight curve to the alignment line from one end to the other which I found visually disturbing when standing over a putt. I will be returning it.

MarkWMarkW: I am giving this 3 stars, but I will say it's more like "3 plus" because as someone that really needs to work on his short game, I do feel like it will and has helped.

First the good... The look is good. The alternating colors for distance, the traces you get from putts, all in all, it has a nice look. Also, the varied speeds. Even as a fairly novice golfer, I notice a difference when I "brush" the fibers of the mat in one direction or another. So this does work if you're curious. Also, I feel like the cup, although above the surface where you see other mats that have cutouts, plays pretty well... Meaning if you hit it too hard, the ball will pop out, but when you hit it just right, it eases in there just right. Basically helps to teach you the touch needed to succeed in putting.

The bad... Well, first you'll notice a picture that I posted from when I first opened the box... A stain on the white center line. I was hoping it was light and some mild soap and water would take it out, but it's still there. If the company that sold me this wants to make it right by getting me a new one, I won't be mad, but I'm not sure that it has really had any effect on the putting...

Thomas Syvertsen: The media could not be loaded.  4 different speeds, I need to use the fastest to match the courses I play in Las Vegas. I 1-putt way more often after getting this mat. Great value for money :-) shaved strokes off my game. At first I was great at 8ft putts but now I’m practicing 4-5ft putts as I realized I was worse at those.

Update. You basically have two speeds going with the grain each direction, unless you want to brush the mat between each ball, if not a trail of faster roll will manifest after only a few balls which significantly alters the roll. Also when putting against the grain the ball gets a squirrelly roll. I’m fine with going with the grain and only using two speeds, still 5 stars. Anything better than this will cost a lot more.

Michael T.: The VariSpeed Putting System is worth the price. Works as advertised and easy to store. It's a permanent fixture in my living room and has easily shaved 10-13 strokes off my putting game with regular use over the past 3 months.

The only thing you might not like is the 7.5 stimp setting. The ball creates visible ball traces as advertised, but those traces impact the direction of all subsequent, overlapping putts. The ball traces act as channels, so to speak. That said, I never use the 7.5 stimp. It's RIDICULOUSLY slow. I've yet to encounter 7.5 stimp on a course and I've been golfing Alberta for nearly 5 seasons.

JeffJeff: I received this yesterday and I am pretty impressed. I’ve been using a Wellputt mat for years and never thought I’d buy another putting mat. After seeing different speeds, I just had to give this a try.

My only complaint with the Wellputt was the speed, which runs like 11-12 in comparison to the Varispeed 11 and 13 stimps.

Pros:
Variable speed - It is pretty amazing that the speeds changes. You can definitely tell the subtle changes in 10 and 11 stimps if you have a good feel for speed control. 13 and 7.5 is a huge difference.
Design - it’s good to see more putting mats printing eyesight lines and the additional attachments, such as bumpers and hole are great. Although, I do recommend Puttout hole for any person who wants to putt to a hole.
Break wedge - this seems like it could be useful. However, I need to tinker with this much more. I use aimpoint and was setting break % and a putting with a gate to ensure proper line. Wasn’t breaking perfectly but this could be due to my uneven floor or poor setup.

Cons:
Material - it is more of a fabric to create the variable speed, which is fine. However, it isn’t as heavy as other mats I own which...
