Akay: The house had an existing Whirlpool refrigerator (model GI0FSAXVY011). The water flow was terrible and we realized that could be potentially from the existing filter. We bought and replaced the existing one with ICEPURE UKF8001 and it works great.

Kermit Heim: The change filter light on our Maytag refrigerator came on. I had some shopping to do so I went to both Lowe's and Home Depot to buy one. The price in both stores was $56 for one filter. Keep in mind that you are supposed to change these every six months and the reminder light works off a timer and not on water usage.
I checked the price on Amazon and was able to buy these TWO highly rated filters for $23. What a deal!

Ruth Jackson: Like the lower prices. Either version, the fridge brand or this one is a little hard for short lil old me to get a handle on correctly, but a stepstool fixed that! The filter itself is really easy to use and clear as to how to install or uninstall. I love ordering the two pack so I don't have to reorder as often. We use the filtered water here for drinking and for cooking certain things, so we go through the filters more quickly than folks who only use it for the drinking water purposes (unless you have seven or more people drinking from it, then we are probably using it at similar pace) The fridge tells me when to order a new one and then alerts me when the filter is actually used up. I keep them on top of the fridge so I can easily see if I have to actually reorder or if I can wait. I usually reorder when I put in the last I had on hand so that it is here in more than plenty of time to be replaced. But you do you when it comes to scheduling.
