Misopants: If all you need is a small air pump for tank no more than 10 gal, this air pump will do great job. This air pump is made with very simple construction with very little mechanism that would wear and tear.

I can hear a small hum, but if you attach a string and hang it on a hook, you will not hear a thing.

I would take this air pump than many other small air pumps, such as USBs and ceramic plate.

Chet T. StoverChet T. Stover: We’ve had this 30gal tank for 3 goldfish, they are getting larger and I also wanted to add air. Recently they’ve started hanging out at the top more often so I decided to just spend the $12.

Easy install, had to cut the (supplied) hose to install the (supplied) check valve.

The only “complaint” I have would be length of hose, but that’s just due to the size of my tank vertically as well as where I placed the pump. It It was just fine for my application.

Ajinkya: When I ordered this, I was very excited but when the order came, it was with no check valve or air stone. I ordered a replacement and it has broken box. The shipment arrived damaged and the tube could not be less shorter! Now I am having a refund.

BeckyBecky: This little thing is impressive for the money paid. I'm an amateur hobbyist and I have a 10 gallon tank with 3 neon tetras. I'd been noticing an oil film on the water surface over the last few months, nothing severe, and I finally decided to get an air stone/pump. Being on a tight budget, I didn't want to spend gobs of money but still wanted something of value.

This air pump/stone combo really does the trick. I followed the directions to a T and so far, it's performing beautifully. It really puts out a lot of bubbles for being a small air pump. I'm considering purchasing a different air stone to perhaps spread out the bubbles, since it's kind of creating an extra current that the tetras are adjusting to.

It isn't loud, but it isn't quiet. It's a noticeable hum/buzz, but I have it in my office space and don't mind the background "white noise". If you're picky or sensitive to noises, this isn't the air pump for you.

H: The media could not be loaded.  EDIT: it seems I had a defective unit. Customer service reached out to me and shipped me a new one at no cost. This one works well and has been consistently quiet so far! Customer service is great if you happen to have received a bad air pump.

It’s so cute and small, and it’s great when it works well—but it mostly doesn’t. 80% of the time it makes an incredibly loud and obnoxious rattling sound. I’ve woken up in the middle of the night from it suddenly going from average air pump sounds, to incredibly loud buzzing. I’ve attached a video of the noise—you can see when I pick it up, it’s fine. I haven’t figured out a way to fix it, but I’ve tried taping it, wrapping it in a towel etc. bummer because it’s only a few weeks old
