Will E.: Great product. Saves me time and helps greatly in organization.
I've needed one of these for awhile and kept holding off. I am so glad I finally pulled the trigger. They are so helpful when you have lots of random drills and don't want to take the time to mic all of them. They are also super handy when you are needing to drill a non-critical hole for a fastener. You simply take the fastener and find the drill size it passes through. I'm sure we have all held the fastener up against a drill trying to eyeball the correct size only to drill and see the hole is undersized, or at times very much oversized. This gauge eliminates that scenario altogether. I have a piece of 1/2" plywood that I do this same thing for with all my forstner bits. It makes choosing the correct size super fast when you can actually take the part and see if it will pass through.
My only complaint would be one already mentioned. The fractional sizes can be difficult to read as they do not contrast with the steel. I have fixed this by lightly spray painting the entire gauge black and carefully wiping the face off. This leaves the spray paint in the indented surface and it contrasts with the light gray of the...

RoachMeister: I somehow have acquired a large collection of drill bits over the years that have been thrown together in a bin. When I decided to organize them by size, I quickly found out how much of a pain it was to identify the markings and diameter, so I got this.
Much to my liking this thing was PERFECT for my needs. It's thick enough that you can't bend it, and it makes identifying your drill bits a breeze (and it's fun too)!
Not only did it make the initial organization faster, but I knew with 100% certainly what size each bit was (no more guessing).
It has also comes in handy when I pull 4 or 5 different bits out and forget which drawers I took them from, I can once again check the sizes quickly and know where to put them.
Overall very handy, quality product.
NOTE: Unlike the other reviewer(s), I did not notice any sharp edges that needed de-burring.

Riley: I needed a gauge for the garage and this works well for measuring drill bits. I received the gauge on time from the seller and it was neatly wrapped in a manilla envelope, however, when I pulled out the gauge, it had several scratches on the front and back, as if it was used or was thrown into a bucket after being drilled. The scratches don't bother me, but if you are expecting a polished piece of metal, don't get your hopes up.
Aside from the scratches, the gauge is accurate in measuring drill bits, the measurements are engraved (not painted), and performed as expected. I gave this a 4 star just because of the scratches, and feel this might be an area they could improve on.

Ronald Haynes: I've needed one of these for a long time to identify those stray drill bits I always seem to run into while rummaging in drawers or finding the correct tap drill. The only reason I didn't give it a '5-stars' was due to the 1/2 hour I spent deburring the highly sharp edges to keep from cutting myself while handling it. It could have used another lap around the deburring tumbler before being packaged up and offered for sale. Those edges WERE SHARP! I stoned the outside edges down with a coarse grit aluminum oxide stone and very lightly used an old countersink trying to slightly break that sharp edge off the back-side of the measuring holes. I also filled-in the stamped fractional sizes using a black lacquer stick which makes identification of the numbers somewhat easier against the shiny plating of the tool itself. All in all, it's now a pretty useful tool to add to my drill bit drawer.

Parth Patel: Huot makes great indexes and gauges. Does its job well without any extra nonsense. The plate is thick too. The only thing I will say is that they could deburr a little better at the factory, but you can solve this issue yourself in 1 minute using a file and hand reamer if you wish. Even if you don't want to, it will still do its job as advertised. I'd rather buy Huot than Chinese stuff.
