Fairly inexpensive and the printing quality is excellent. But before you connect for the free ink refill option read up on this! Yes it "saves you money" but the reviews are not very good on this option from reading online sources. You can buy the ink yourself vice the printer signaling HP you need ink and waiting for the mail. It all comes at a cost and once accepted you are committed! The Blacksmith: I finally replaced my old Epson multi-function printer with this one from HP. I only wish I did so sooner. Easy set up, great features, fast printing, high quality. I often print odd sized items. No longer do I have to print on oversized stock and then trim it. Yesterday I was printing gift tags on 3”x5” index cards and it was sooo simple! Easy to make copies or scan. You can’t go wrong with this! Highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a new printer.

Pete: This is an excellent home/work printer it worked exactly how I wanted it to work performs all function that I needed like fax, scan, copy, print and 2-sided printing. Eventhough, I am old fashion and prefer stuff with pushbuttons in my personal opinion for navigating the screen and dialing the number for faxing it was still easy to use. Printing away from home using your smartphone is a plus in my opinion and made my work life easier when it comes to trying to remember what I had to print when I got home, when I could just print write then and there and have it already printed when I get home. The scanning side of the printer worked great and functioned the way you want when needing to make copies of bigger paper items and it comes out perfectly. It looks fragile with all the plastic frame and its design when operating it and it may be a little to noisy and may sound like its self destructing but, for the price and all the quallity it has its sturdy tough and performs all your printing needs. The color white isn't my favorite color I'd prefered the printer in black, but its still does what I need it to do. Thank you company who designed this printer. I love it,...

Rjmb:
Update to the below - this is actually a good printer. The scan to computer from the control panel still doesn’t work, but the scanner works fine using the software app.
This printer prints fine. However, if you want to scan from the printer control panel to your computer (I have a Dell, you would think HP would figure out how to work with a Dell by now), IT DOES NOT WORK. It also somehow views this as an extra complicated setup, which is circular and redundant, and its HP SmartApp and the setup app, and 123.hp.com can best be described as annoyed with each other. Plan on 2+ hours to setup, uninstall, reboot, reinstall, uninstall, check with the help desk, etc...

Amazon Customer:
I bought this POS because my previous HP printer was fantastic. This one is a piece of junk, noisy cheaply made of flimsy plastic and only sometimes operational. How hard is to get a printer to print? I mean really this is ancient technology.
In summary:
1) Took 3 hours to get it set up, finally after hours for bizarre instructions, for no reason at all it started to work.
2) after three months it decided that it could no longer access the PC via Wi-Fi, though it was only 6 inches from the Wi-Fi router and had accessed the PC for three months, another 3 hours and I got it to work via cable no more wireless.
3) three months later it again refused to work, this time my son-in-law the I.T. guy managed to get it working in only half a hour after I had worked on it for a couple of hours.
4) A month later it again died, this time I finally got through to a real live tech support lady and after only an hour she got it to work. She tells me it didn’t work because the driver was not installed, interestingly ran for 10 months with no driver installed, methinks that is a bit dubious but anyway it was working again.
5) Run out of ink,...

Ipshnu: If you do not need the ability to scan directly using the scan icon on the printer screen, it's a snap to install. To be able to scan to a computer from the printer screen requires help from HP. Once I finally got through to a HP tech, he added the necessary drivers to my W10 PRO 64bit laptop and everything is working beautifully. Took a long time on hold before I finally got tech support.

Amazon Buyer (SlM): I am a long-time HP customer, and all my printers have been HPs. My first printer, a black-and-white HP laser printer, lasted for many years. It was followed by an HP DeskJet 940c color printer; this printer still works, but it is now difficult to find its cartridges (I only purchase HP cartridges, and the printer rejects out-of-date cartridges) and its function is limited to printing only. My printers since then have been HP OfficeJet Pro All-in-One Printer/Scanner/Fax — HP 8610, HP 8630, and HP 8740 — each of which has unique problems. The HP 8610 will scan to USB, but ruins the USB drive to which files and images are scanned. The HP 8630 fails to recognize or acknowledge the presence of a USB drive but it will scan to PC’s using its wireless capabilities and it can print using both of its paper trays. The HP 8740, the worst until now, fails to recognize or acknowledge the presence of USB drives, it will not scan to PCs unless the PC initiates the connection, it has frequent paper jams, and the second paper tray is useless as the unit will not acknowledge its presence. As you might imagine, it is disappointing to spend money — at the time $399,...

Corey: I had an HP all-in-one Envy a few years ago and it was a great printer, until it just stopped working one day (about 1.5 years after I bought it). I was not impressed. I then bought a similar priced Brother printer, and it was just awful. Prints were terrible. I decided to give HP another chance with this printer, based on reviews and price point. I have been using it for a couple months now and love it. The prints are very good, fast, easy to connect. Scanner is great too. It is a bit loud, but nothing to worry about. Happy with this purchase.

Steve D.: I bought this printer to replace a decade old Epson inkjet printer. I use this in my home office & while it doesn't see loads of heavy use, it has performed flawlessly on the few hundred prints I've processed. Wireless set up was a breeze! I've subscribed to the HP instant Ink program, so not having to ever worry about running out of ink is a huge plus!
