this is the third of this vac that I've bought for myself and parents. I had older version to replace. These are the reasons I like it:
1. it is BAGGED and bags are cheap ( especially third party ones). After trying bagless vacs - I returned them in disgust - messy. Always struggle to undestand why anyone would use baggless.
2. It does NOT have SWIVEL. I found that swivel feels nice for the first several minutes - but for actually using it it puts more stress on hands.
3. It does NOT have LIFT UP (i.e. like when you can disconnect the motor and move it around). I found that lift-up models have big drawback. Because motor sits a bitt higher than on model like this, during vacuum you actually takes more effort and puts more stress on hand to hold the handle. On this model motor sits close to the bottom.
4. At 16pbs - It is not lightest, but not heaviest among the uprights. I found that the weight does not matter that much for actual vacuuming - since you roll it on big wheels and it moves effortlessly on carpet. I guess if someone .
5. Has HEPA filter.
7. Simple to use. Does NOT have multitude of buttons that could be confusing to an older...

T.C.: Very Happy with this purchase. I am glad to have a bagged vacumn. I am glad I chose this one. It was affordable and does and excellent job. It also fits my attachments from the Hoover Cannister Vacumn I had been using. I was worried about not having the auto cord winder, but it is so easy to just ravel up the cord and hang it on the provided hook in the back area where it stays put and does not get in the way. I would buy thisagain for sure.

I held off reviewing this vacuum cleaner for a few months, as writing a review for a brand new appliance doesn't really mean a whole lot from my perspective.
Overall, this is an excellent vacuum cleaner that I would highly recommend to most people.
I live in a house with physically disabled folks, cats, and physically disabled cats. There's carpet everywhere but the bathroom (yes, including the kitchen π΅βπ«). The floors here can be FEMA-certifiable disasters.
This $150 Hoover does what my $500 Dyson Ball Animal 2 couldn't: survive this house. Where the Dyson would get clogged filters and hair wrapped around the plastic roller in the head, I've had to do very, very little maintenance on this Hoover. I just changed the bag today, for the first time in months of use, and the filters were still perfectly clean. I still have to take out the occasional bit of string or hair from the roller, but it's not nearly as bad the roller in the Dyson. I believe this is due to the unique geometry of the roller in the Hoover head (shown in the photo), whereas the Dyson's is just a cylinder.
The other reviews saying that this vacuum doesn't throw...

Paul Stichhaller: They fixed all the issues - hose is much longer, vacuum is lighter, the rotating brush is visible, bag holder works perfectly, on/off switch is on the handle, has a foot switch to stop rotating brush, suction is incredible, the height adjustment is easier, the cord is longer...Hoover responded to all the problems and fixed them all. This is an amazing vacuum cleaner buy it you won't be disappointed.

I had a Hoover upright vacuum for about 30 years and after it finally gasped it's last breath I got a Shark with a swivel head. That lasted about a year, then I got a stick vacuum which was useless. Neither of them had any suction to speak of and were hopeless on hard surfaces. Both had cups to collect dust which accumulated around the motor and made emptying a pain.
So I went back to a plain old Hoover upright with bags and it doesn't disappoint. Easy to use, easy to switch surfaces and best of all it actually has great suction. The pile on my area rugs stand up unlike the others mentioned that always looked like they'd never seen a vacuum. It's fantastic on hard surfaces - no more blowing dust/debris everywhere and it's quieter. Happy with my purchase.

One of the comments I had read in the reviews that I didn't even think about previously, but is such a great perk is that it doesn't come encased in a bunch of Styrofoam! It's fit safely in the box with plain old cardboard!π
I had an old version of this vacuum for years (it was a wedding gift in 2002?π).
I am happy to discover this is basically the same but a newer and slightly improved version. I love that you can turn the powerhead off easily to vacuum smooth floors.
I have shag rugs and it's not quite high enough on the highest setting to maneuver that fully. I can only pull to vacuum the shag- but I kind of expected that.

After reading reviews for bagless vacs I decided to stay with Hoover bagged since that's what I had for 14+ yrs. This vacuum is the upgraded version of the WindTunnel Tempo that it's replacing and it's worth considering for the following reasons.
1- Better roller brush powerhead with window to see brush, on/off foot operated brush roller switch on top of power head, upper body release switch at back of power head foot operated and push dial selector to set roller brush height.
2- The hose is very long (finally), rubber coated and well made unlike the old model that was too short, made of cheap weak plastic that collapsed if using the wand and was always coming out of the tabs that held it. There's a release lock on this one keeps it attached. Don't let the length concern you it has plenty of suction and stretches out for up high dusting without falling over. A second wand would have been nice but not needed, I still have the old ones which fit if needed.
3- Nice long power cord that comes out the back of powerhead (there's a notch just below the back of the handle which is meant for it, just push it into it) so you won't be running over it or...

Mag: Excellent suction. A tad bulky so it's not for lugging up and down the stairs. Our space is just one storey and it works great. The roller brush keeps the rugs clean. Having used both for years, we now prefer bagged vacuum which keeps the air clean and it's easy to dispose the gathered dirt (I found that I needed a garbage bag to empty the bagless vacuum's canister anyway so it's not bagless). The replacement bags are affordable. We have purchased two units of the Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Tempo Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner with HEPA Media Filter. After using ours for 2-3 years, we bought this same model for our kids' condo.
