J. Ronhovde: This chimney is great. It has a great deflector and wooden handle so no burned hands when you go to dump it in the grill. You can also easily access your paper or stater under the charcoal given the large O shaped openings around the bottom. Other chimneys have slots and you can’t get the lighter between them. Many also have plastic handles that stress really hot when go to dump your coals.

Amazon Customer: The glove is way too thin to protect from the kind of heat this exposes you too. But overall the item worked for the purpose of warming coals

Debbie B: Was about to get rid of my charcoal bbq…could not get it to stay lit or get hot enough. Was considering a gas bbq but really preferred charcoal. Ordered this kit and highly recommend it. It was so easy to set up and light. Used same briquettes that previously would not light without a LOT of charcoal lighter fluid…and even then just did not stay hot enough. The kit comes with starter cubes that lit instantly and briquettes were soon turning red. The little fan gadget (which I really had doubts would help much) fed the flames throughout layers of coals and really sped things up. I managed to get the bbq started by myself (boyfriend usually does it) and he was also very impressed. Instead of my little bbq being kicked to the curb, we will now be able to have some end of season barbecuing without cursing it! This product was a real game changer!!!

Ballard: You can't beat the price. A chimney costs ~25$, for $40 you get a chimney, gloves and the fan which works well. I've only put 4 batteries in it and it's worked all summer. It gets your coals going in a hurry! You can use it in your fireplace too.
