The HOLMES Group Bionaire Thin Window Fan with Comfort Control Thermostat is the perfect choice for those looking for a high-quality, value-for-money window fan. With its built-in 3 independently controlled comfort settings, you can easily customize the fan to meet your needs. It also comes with a minimum opening of 65 cm wide x 20 cm high, making it ideal for double-hung windows. Plus, the fan features a built-in sliding safe panel that can extend its width to 17-22 cm. All these features make it one of the best Household Window Fans on the market today. David Wise: Having had one of these fans installed and running for a couple weeks now, I quite enjoy it.
Pros
- Moves a surprising amount of air. I have it installed in a window blowing outwards with another window cracked on the other side of the house and you can feel the draft.
- Surprisingly quiet, even with all 3 fans running.
Cons
- The extra baffles dont lock in, so installing the unit can be a bit of a hassle for one person.
- Cord placement. The power cord is in the middle of the main unit, and doesnt have any clips to tuck it out of the way to one side or the other.

Amazon Customer: The fan worked really well, fit into the window perfectly but it doesn't have a remote as stated
in the product specifications so sent it back as it doesn't meet my needs.

Eyezballz: Product is quiet and effective. I am able to sleep while fan is on. When I wake up my large bedroom is cool and comfortable. I highly recommend this product for someone who can't tolerate an a/c.

LDannaLDanna: The triple window fan measures 2' x 9" with 7" additional extensions for both sides. One of the extensions is hard plastic while the other side is an accordion style that can be expanded or detracted for added length. You could easily use it in a wider window in a horizontal position as it's quite easily held in place. You can also place it in a vertical window. There are controls on both sides of the fan which makes it adaptable to a right or left handed window. These three tiny fans have a surprising amount of blowing power. They can draw the air out or draw the air in. I've been buying them and other Bionaire products directly from the company online until a few years ago, when they suddenly stopped selling online. I had the sense then that they were preparing to go out of business. Today their website offers only filters and accessories for previous models, and is selling out existing stock through a few selected retailers. I'm super glad I found this one, and am also relieved that they last for an extraordinarily long time, considering they are window fans. Three years ago, each one cost $49+tax with free delivery, Now I was lucky to find one at nearly $200, and I was happy...

Elida Baxter: I bought this unit as a replacement for an older unit I had. The older unit finally gave up, I had bought it used, had it for about 2.5 years, ran 24 hours a day and did the job. The new unit is white so fits my decor better, also runs 24 hours a day, this ones I can hear run but just as a background hum, I do find the controls, being at the top of the unit (vertical placement), a bit of a pain as I am short and the unit is in the kitchen over the counter tops, so I have to use a step stool to reach the controls. I would recommend this unit to anyone who requires a constant and consistent fan.

Claire B.: My review is from the perspective of my specific needs and how it worked for me so here it is:
- NOT VERY BIG AND BULKY - this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Shopping for a fan for a small one panel bathroom window mainly, with option to use in any other window. I needed something that is relatively small, not super big and I did not need a hurricane like power of the fan either. The fan is about 7 or so inches high tops 8 but I am guessing.. In any case.. it does not overpower the window or room, it is nice and rather forgiving as far as the visual impact and what is important to me, it is light and small so I dob't have to struggle to put it in or take out as needed.
- EASY TO PUT IN THE WINDOW AND REMOVE - that is really non-process. You just open the window, pull our the accordion like extension to cover the entire width of the window frame and it is really super easy to do. Then you just position it in the open window frame and close the window down all the way till it touches the top of the fan. Done. The whole process takes maybe a minute or under once you get a hang of it. It is light and perfect so I can carry it easily in one hand. To take it out of the...

Redwood George: (Formerly titled "Wow! Very quiet and moves A LOT of air!" - update at the end)
I replaced a twin 8" window fan similar to the Holmes or Bionaire listed in the "Customers also bought" section. The old fan was pretty standard with two three bladed fans measuring about 7" inside the housing. These fan blades are quite a bit smaller at 5.5 inches. (For the math nerds out there, the older fan had about 98 square inches of fan area, this fan has 91 sq in. so they're pretty comparable in terms of size) This fan takes up a lot less window area, though since the housing is much smaller in size.
There are a number of areas where this design is far superior to those older window fans:
- Rather than a three bladed "boat propeller" design, these fans use a 9 bladed "scimitar" fan design more like what you'd find on a high-end computer fan. The scimitar fan blades are much more efficient and actually have more surface area than the typical three blade setups.
- The fans are in ducted housings. Now you have to be a real fan of fans for this to matter but what it means is that the fan blades are housed in a tube that's only slightly larger in diameter than the fan blades....

Amazon Customer: Decent if not a bit expensive. Moves a good volume of air. Owned for about a year and half. Used it none stop for about 8-9 months. After not using it over last winter and spring one fan has become unbalanced and rattles. I will attempt to rectify the issue. When its not misbehaving, it performs very well. It isn't whisper quiet under normal operation. I would put it at a whoosh. Being in the same room it can be a bit intrusive depends on your level of tolerance.
