Dead HeadDead Head: The guitar needs a setup right out of the box. You are going to have to file down the
saddle, which takes time. I broke the one that came with the guitar, and replaced it with one made of buffalo bone. If you are skilled at working on guitars, you might also want to file down the nut a bit. You will also have to adjust the truss rod a bit to lower the action.

The intonation is surprisingly exceptional, especially given how much you pay for the instrument. The strings are actually quite nice sounding.

I'm not too pleased with the feel fretboard though it is well made and the frets are of terrific quality. The neck width feels a little thin to me. But that's just my personal preference. Some people like it that way.

All in all a very good guitar.

Timofey Kondrashov: for the price, it's a good instrument, but the action is so high that it isn't a good option for beginners since you probably need to replace the saddle. probably a good way to save money for some people but also probably not worth the headache for many people

Tony: Guitar came reasonably set up - and for a nylon string guitar you generally don't want super fast action in any case!

intonation was great, and the general set up of frets, fret smoothness/edges, and (lack of) neck bow was far better than I expected (I've seen worse in newly-shipped guitars at ten times the cost)

The tone is *decent*, and is absolutely fabulous for the price (it's not as rounded as the best classical guitars, but duh - it's $130 WITH a gig bag! It's easily a $20 gig bag, so $110 for the guitar!)

This is not a *beginner* guitar, it's a *workmanlike* guitar. It is sufficiently good for me to rely on for my continuing (re)education in classical guitar (after playing jazz, folk, blues, and rock for almost 50 years) and I get absolutely no sense that I'll want to replace it in a few months or years...

All in all - it is astonishing.

In comparison - I used to have a cheap "thrash guitar" I picked up for playing while I was long term on a project far from home -- I'd travel with clothes, but I wasn't trusting a decent instrument to airline baggage handling! That cheap thrash guitar cost about the same as this -- or...

Steph: I am 5'1" with obviously small hands and own three Taylor GS Minis (23.5" scales) and a Fender Mustang 90 (24" scale). I love small scale guitars, which are tough to find, and decided, since I am interested in teaching myself fingerstyle, to take a chance on this instrument as it probably has about a 23" scale length, which I verified it does.
I couldn't wait to open the box and was totally delighted at the sheer quality the instrument has. It is absolutely beautiful, and one would think it cost a great deal more.
I tuned it up and played a few blues riffs and a bit of fingerstyle and was amazed at the projection and commanding "voice" this little guitar has! This is absolutely one of the biggest and best bargains I have ever gotten. It is easier to play fingerstyle on it as the strings are slightly further apart and you can get your right hand fingers onto the strings more easily without slipping off.

This is a beautiful first guitar for a young person just starting to learn and when I read through the reviews, I noted several other physically smaller adults had bought it for themselves. It is easier to get your right arm over and makes playing...

Dirtgrey: I purchased this guitar as a reasonably priced training tool. I specifically searched for a Classical model with nylon strings. The guitar's finish is outstanding, to say the least. I could not find a single flaw anywhere on the unit. The neck is flat and straight. The tuners are all metal and add a nice decoration to the headstock. They are firm in their grip of the strings and have a consistent feel across all stings. The sound is wonderful, very full and rich. The nylon-strings are of the Savarez brand and I don't see a need to change them out for a long time to come. There is no doubt this instrument is very well made and a lot of thought went into the details of the finished product. It is very playable. At this price point, you will have an extremely difficult time finding a better product including those guitars made by the more "famous" brands like Yamaha and Fender. I highly recommend this guitar to players just starting out or even intermediate players needing a second guitar for daily practice. I have a small issue with the included padded soft case but after contacting the company, they are responding immediately to the problem at my...
