One of my cats refused to stay off my kitchen counters despite using all manner of baffles to stop him—until I purchased these scat mats. He jumped on them once and that was enough to deter him. Yes they hurt but do not injure. They are durable too. Love my cat even more now that he stays off the counter. Happy with my purchase!

Unfortunately this didn’t keep my cats from getting on the kitchen counters. They just jump onto any little inch of clear space and carefully navigate across and around the spike mats. The connectors for joining individual panels are super flimsy and many were missing or snapped off and loose in the packaging when it arrived, but you can kind of overlap the pieces so the spikes hold them together. If they had deterred the cats I would’ve been happy enough for the price.

We installed this product in a tree box in New York City. This product was very easy to install around our existing tree and other small plants. Since we installed the dogs peeing on and killing our plants has stopped entirely. This product is very effective and I would recommend highly !

For some reason I thought humans could walk on this. I had planned to use it on a flight of stairs to keep the cat from going down there. The spikes are very rigid and of course a human cannot walk on this, shoes or not. I tried to do every other step but the cat just jumped the entire flight of stairs, up and down. Not really the products fault.
So user error, I'm sure it would work for someone else.
