High Sierra Loop Backpack - Perfect for School, Travel, or Work

Amy C.: We bought this backpack in June 2022 for daughter’s 7th grade year. Her school does not have lockers so pack is very heavy and she averaged about 7k steps per day at school. At the end of the school year, it was still in perfect shape- she’s using it again for 8th grade year. No zipper issues, no fray! At the end of this year we will donate it for a good cause to foster kids and will definitely buy the same brand again!

Krissie GillKrissie Gill: I bought this book bag for my daughter for this school year 2023-2024 and it lasted two months. She is in ninth grade and only carried her laptop a pencil case and two binders in the book bag. I’d really like either a new book bag to replace this one or my money back. We have gotten high sierra book bags for years now, and this has never happened to any of the previous bookbags. We actually had to get the one she used for last year to replace this one, so she has something to take to school.

Christina: I love this backpack! It's larger than normal bookbags with several pockets and zipper sections. It's big enough and sturdy enough to hold my HUGE textbooks, binders, etc. And I feel very organized because of all the pocket options

nessw: My 14yr old son has had this brand and model for past 3 years so purchased this for my daughter. If it can last 3 years and still be in tack with what a teenage male does it is worth every cent! Also has heaps of space for all their high school books/laptop/etc. Definitely recommend.

Kelsey: I bought two of these for my fourth grade twin boys. The most important feature for me at their age is durability, as they are hard on everything. This is a high quality, durable, and versatile backpack that can be used for bigger elementary school kids to adults. There is one large main pocket, a secondary pocket, and a few smaller pockets that are great for snacks, earphones, pencil pouches, etc. There is also a side pocket that hold a water bottle on both sides. This backpack can easily fit a laptop or a lunchbox.

The only downside I can see with this backpack is if you are using it for a smaller kid and you have to adjust the straps so they are all the way up, the excess strap hangs down. It has no where to go or nothing to secure it. I improvised by using rubber bands to keep the excess straps from hitting the back of their legs.

Overall I would highly recommend this backpack and would purchase it again as a replacement a few years from now or as an additional backpack for work or outdoor use.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: Update to the review below: I contacted High Sierra at their website, and they immediately offered to send me a replacement at no cost. I appreciate their willingness to make things right, and although I can't recommend this particular backpack, I DO recommend High Sierra!

Other reviews have raved about the quality of these backpacks, so I can only imagine that they have recently started making them much more cheaply. My daughter carried this backpack for less than six weeks - normal middle school use, nothing crazy - and a giant hole has already appeared by the zipper. It is unusable, and unreturnable since we are two weeks past the 30-day return window. I DO NOT recommend these backpacks, and I suggest being very skeptical of any reviews that describe their durability. That seems to be a thing of the past.
