HERTZKO Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush for Pet Grooming

Squirrelyk: It works! It works better than any other brush I have ever had for my dogs since I've had dogs. It is so easy to keep all the hair contained so it isn't flying around the room or the yard. She seems to enjoy being brushed with this one but didn't seem to enjoy any of the others I have used. This is the only dog brush I will ever use. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Amazon Customer: My cat used to fight me when trying to groom her using her old brush, now she rubs into this brush all in her own and purrs like crazy! I can tell how much she enjoys it. PLUS it actually captures the hair and the retractable mechanism is awesome for cleaning it as well as storing it! Her other brush would get the prongs bent, but since this can be retracted, no more bent pieces! Love this brush!

dicker: We whereas the other brushes ,without exception, had tines bend and jam because the guides were too thin this brush seems to have solved this problem. . After 9 months use the Hertzko still works as new. From my experience I recommend it

JanRox: Previous dog brushes got loose hair off my pet but it was so hard to get the fur out of the brush. This brush makes removing the fur so easy — just push the button & the fur falls into your hand. What a concept. Why didn’t I think of this easy design?? The brush grabs a lot of fur. My dog has short straight fur & I get lots of fur while combing. I use this brush daily & it seems to be a sturdy brush. I was not paid nor given any promotional items for my opinion.

Izzy: I absolutely love this. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I originally bought it for my Maine Coone cat (who is a very large cat), however the brush itself was too large, with the brush parts being too wide apart, I've opted to use it for my dog instead.

It says in the title that it can be used for small animals, however I do not recommend it for smaller animals, and you should buy it for large/ medium ones instead. If you have a cat with thicker hair rather than fine, you may find it of use, but I still recommend you find a brush that is not as wide, and is a bit smaller.

Zack M: We recently added a medium-hair cat to our family, and he needs some serious regular brushing that goes beyond what most of our brushes are capable of handling. We bought a few brushes to try, and this is one of the best we found. The only issue is that when we do what is usually a ‘normal’ long brush stroke on other brushes with this brush, the teeth can hold on and pull enough that we could drag our poor kitty along the floor just by brushing him. So if your pet has longer hair, just do lighter brushes on smaller sections at a time as you work through all the tangles.

Also, I don’t really like the way the fur removal works, it feels awkward to do. You have to retract the bristles to remove the fur, and the button to do it interferes with your grip on the handle when you’re brushing.

Despite that, this is a good addition to any fur-management tool set.

KateAtTheBeach: I purchased to replace a competitor's brush which I somehow misplaced. Loved this lost brush as it easily removed tangles, excess undercoat and unraveled matts easily without pain to my dog. He actually laid down and rolled over begging to be brushed with it.

I have a double coated long-haired medium sized dog.

This brush scares my baby. He fights me while using. I can see a medium haired dog not minding the brushing but with a longer haired dog, the bristles just do not reach down to just above the skin to work properly.

Disappointed but will keep until I find my "lost" brush.

Pros:

Easy to retract the bristles to fully remove fur/hairs from the brush.
Push Button to lock bristles into place is a good feature.
Good Rubber/Silicone Handle that doesn't slip out of palm.
Overall brush size is good.

Cons:

Cheap hollow plastic construction that isn't on par with competition.
Took more than 5 days to arrive when Amazon stated overnight arrival.
Bristles are shorter than most slicker brushes so do not dig into and remove tangles and dead hair.
Handle is not ergonomically shaped thus awkward when handling.

AntS: I’m using this brush on two, year old British short hair cats. The brush gets their seal of approval as they will park themselves in front of it and offer them selves up for a grooming session.

Likes:
-Gets into the undercoat which is where our cats shed the most and gets all the stray hair.
-The design is sensible as the prongs are retracted until you press the button which protects them from damage and should ensure it lasts longer.
- The fur is also easy to clean off because you can retract the prongs of the brush.
-It’s reasonably wide with a large surface area to get the job done quickly.
-Not too heavy.

Dislikes
-Despite the retracting prongs they look delicate and care needs to be taken when brushing.
-The prongs are not covered in plastic - this doesn’t seem to both my cats but they have a tendency to want to nibble brushes and I don’t want this piercing their gums so have to be on guard at all times and keep it retracted when not in use.

R.U: Its quite good, could be better but considering the price i suppose i should not complain.
Cat that needs to be brushed is not that fond of it, the other cat that does not need brushing lovez it though haha
