John: Anyone who is skeptical of this collar type probably does not have a large dog. My dog would never be injured by this collar because he responds IMMEDIATELY to any pulling...by not pulling. He's a shepherd/husky mix and is very strong. This collar made him go from being difficult to take for a walk to being a complete pleasure to walk. I HIGHLY recommend this collar if you have a semi- unmanageable dog

Pullingrank: It's an amazing product. It does exactly what it says it's supposed to doIt's an amazing product. It does exactly what it says it's supposed to do, sturdy, highly functional, however, and this is a big however... It tarnishes the heck out of my white dog's neck. I have an XL bully he has a huge neck and a huge chain and now he has a huge black ring around his neck about 3 in wide and all the way around. If this product was indeed stainless steel, it shouldn't be doing this. Unless of course they've got a chrome plate on the stainless. Either way totally dissatisfied they gave it three stars because of function wish I could take all the stars away honestly. This is exactly why I bought a new color and paid $120. Return!

D. Bortz: Night and day difference using the prong collar vs harness for our 80lb 8 month old GSD. Order this collar, watch a few videos by Upstate Canine Academy and practice practice practice. The main take away is understanding how the collar creates uniform pressure and using quick tugs to correct/instruct the dog vs constant pressure. 5/5.

CK: We purchased two of these for our 120lb dog so we could use the links to make one collar. I do wish they made a smaller prong in a longer length. Just because you have bigger dogs does not equate to needing bigger prongs. This is super effective at teaching self correction and the handler giving a quick correction.

Pero es necesario que el manejador sepa utilizarlos o de otra forma se crearán señales incorrectas en el perro. Les dejo unos tips.

1. El collar nunca se utiliza solo, siempre debe usarse doble collar porque los eslabones se pueden soltar en cualquier momento y el segundo collar (Herm Sprenger o plano) evitará que el perro salga corriendo

2. Si se queda solo en casa o en su jaula el collar se debe retirar y solo dejar el collar plano

Si no eres un manejador experimentado solo recomiendo usar este collar durante los paseos.

gottaread: Yes, I was absolutely hesitant to use these collars initially. I avoided it and probably "over treated" my two pups trying to train them, but maybe I was actually bribing them. I had two dog trainers recommend this collar and I understand others may not. My two pups are 7 different breeds (did the dog dna testing) and they are large dogs. They are super, incredibly sweet, loving dogs. I was afraid I would cause them to distrust me and I was afraid I would eliminate some of their loving, sweet natures by using this training collar. I was, very thankfully, so wrong. Because they are large puppies (67lbs and 80lbs), they do not know their own strength, get over-excited, and are more focused on getting what they want than on their training walks. Used correctly, and I sincerely mean correctly, they are fabulous training tools. I must also admit they are terrific safety features for me since my dogs will not take off after a squirrel or anything else while I walk them with these collars.
