Ajd041: After I realized just how much sugar I had been ingesting from having regular ketchup around all the time for years, I decided to make the switch to this kind after I realized it's cheaper to buy in bulk on amazon than in the grocery store.
Sucralose is indeed on the ingredients list, but ketchup's normal recipe does call for sugar. This seems to be a common, persistent myth out there, but sugar is sugar, whether it's sucrose or sucralose, glucose, galactose, or others. Your stomach processes all sugars the same way by dissolving them into quick, usable energy (sugars don't require any processing at all to be used by the body like most other foods do).
So whether it's Cane sugar or corn syrup ultimately makes no difference---what's important to me is that there isn't a lot of it in ketchup. This formula is more in line with what is sold overseas where ketchup is not super sweet (like everything is in the us) and is overall healthier for you because it's not dessert.
Personally, I love the acidic taste of this ketchup. It's lovely, and definitely preferable to the overwhelming sweetness of the regular kind.
