Stephen Harrod Buhner's Healing Lyme Disease Coinfections: Complementary and Holistic Treatments for Bartonella and Mycoplasma is one of the best Books on communicable diseases due to its easy-to-read content, high-quality binding and pages, and overall satisfaction. This book provides a comprehensive look at treating Bartonella and Mycoplasma, two common coinfections of Lyme disease, with complementary and holistic treatments. With Buhner's expertise, you can learn how to heal these infections and reclaim your health.Listentothis: Finally today the husband said, you know I am noticing a change in my condition. Less breathlessness. He has had RA and Anaemia of Chronic disease for five years. I found the information in this book to be enlightening. Even though he has not been tested for these organisms the symptoms fit. Thankfully I was able to source some excellent tinctures online. Buhner recommended for Anaemia Haemoplasmas, Sida Acuta, N Acetyl Cysteine, Biden's Pilosa, and Cryptolepsis. He is only taking the smallest amount to ease into it. He has a Herx reaction in one finger. I also started him back on Raw Iron and thank God he is now feeling he has started to improve. I also got the Myco Formula from another source. With in a week his Hemoglobin has finally gone up to 12.1 from being 10 and lower for four years. And Red Cell numbers have gone up also. He also takes Minocycline for his RA. Sourced from over seas. There isn't much information regarding peoples responses to these protocols. So far we are grateful for Stephen Buhners work and dedication to finding natural cures for these insidious conditions.

David: This guy certainly knows his stuff and is one of the few addressing the problems associated with mycoplasma. My criticisms are the lack of verifiable data to support the claims and the difficulty in following the protocol. Many of the medicines are not available in the form suggested. Also, my protocol involves about 20 medicines to be taken 3 times a day for 2 years. That does not leave much time for anything else - by the time I have taken the last tincture it is time to start again. Also, the cost for 2 years would be crippling.

Victoria Hamilton: Excellent book, in fact the only book I could find on Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma. I have a ureaplasma infection which has given me Interstial Cystitis for 2+ years-misery. It took lots of searching and an eventual test at medichecks to work out that this is what has been causing my constant UTI symptoms. I'm now following the protocol in this book and am on my way to recovery. Sending love and well wishes to any of you on this journey. Essential oils are also showing great hope for mycoplasma and ureaplasma too.

SOPHIE: I have been struggling with neuro Lyme and Bartonella for 10 months. Living in Atlanta GA there is next to nothing in finding a true lyme literate physician or IDSA physician who acknowledges coinfections. My PCP refused to treat lYME with the bare minimum CDC guidelines resulting in an acute hospitalization at Emory due to severe neurological deficits and a BP of 60/40. IF YOU HAVE LYME STAY AWAY FROM INFECTIOUS DISEASE PHYSICIANS! THEY ONLY FOLLOW CDC GUIDELINES WHICH WILL NOT ADEQUATELY TREAT LYME AND THE COINFECTIONS. SEARCH OUT INTEGRATIVE PHYSICIAN OR LEAVE REQUEST HERE. Quickly I learned to advocate for myself and to understand these co-infections. Now that I have found a truly lyme literate integrative physician this week who utilizes these protocols I will be able to communicate and understand the healing journey. This book is comprehensive in detail in outlining the disease process, the bacteria profile, the inflammation cascade, providing Harvard studies on treatment findings, and best of all phamaceutical and detailed holistic modalities to treat these stealth infections.I am devotee of his bartonella protocol and have begun to see improvement in 3 weeks!!!!

AL: This book explains a lot of how the body reacts and changes with these infections.
It seems like a thick book, but roughly 1/3 is references and a bibliography to back up the info in the book.
It also has a 'quick' reference for the protocols, so it makes for easier shopping if you choose to do these protocols.
This book is more scientific than Buhner's Lyme book.

Steven Sponaugle: Healing Lyme Disease Coinfections, by Stephen Harrod Buhner, is easily the best discussion of Mycoplasma and Bartonella infections and their testing and herbal treatment.
This book is a great bargain, since purchasing a copy of even one of the published studies he discusses would cost more than the entire price of the book. Buhner has obviously read and distilled over a hundred scientific journal articles to write this book. It is obvious he has read the entire articles, not just the abstracts.
The depth of the book and the power of the various herbals to precisely modify the immune system is almost overwhelming. For example, Scutellaria baicalensis, Chinese skullcap, reduces nitric oxide, iNOS, IL-3, IL-6, IL-17, COX -2, PGE2, NF-xB,IxB-a, IL-1b, IL-2 IL-12, TNF-a and VEGF and tends to upregulate IL-10. Amazingly, some physicians claim there are no published studies of herbal medicinal effects! Interestingly, Buhner reports Scutellaria inhibits Cytochrome P450 C3A4, while a journal article, Eur J Drug Metab Pharmacokinet. 2011 Dec;36(4):249-56, concluded it did not inhibit C3A4, in vitro.
I have personally witnessed resveratrol, andrographis, cat's claw,...
