Sandra: Suction power is excellent since it’s powered by our sand filter. We use our own hose but it comes with a hose that you assemble. It does get stuck on the northeast corner of our pool- it might be a gravity thing or the way the hose curls. When I stretch out the hose and mind where it goes I can clean the entire pool. Occasionally it tips over a bit due to the curl of the hose- but it rights itself. We had a mustard algae problem left over from last year when our filter wasn’t hooked up. This cleaner has cleaned it up nicely (with the scrubbing brush to the sides too since this remote doesn’t climb the pool sides). Nice little cleaner.

Wendy Earle: The media could not be loaded. Fed ex came on Saturday and delivered it five days sooner when they said it would be delivered!! On a long weekend! My ring door bell went off and I ran to get it! I opened that box up so quick. Looked over the Manuel and with in 20 min She was in our pool working. We named her Beatrice and she did an amazing job. I am so happy. She didn’t miss a spot, I checked. Tested suction, with the handy gauge and it was perfect before running her. I give five stars all around. Buying, delivery and using. My pool is so clean. So happy I jumped in and bought this item. If you have a above ground pool, this little guy is so much fun to use and performs. So much better then vacuuming by hand. With drink in hand I loved watching her go. Do not hesitate buy one before they run out. It’s pool time!!!

Hark064Hark064: I wasn’t expecting perfection. I am therefore happy with this product. I mainly wanted it to help with the first heavy vacuum when opening the pool. It did an adequate job on my 15 ft round but not perfect. I did have to do some manual vacuum afterwards but not a whole lot. I will say it did have some challenges staying down on the floor and I had to keep an eye out to periodically adjust it.

Amazon Customer: I have a 33' x 18' oval, and was worried that this wouldn't be "real" enough for my size pool. I was pleasantly surprised that it does the job quite well. I did have to buy 4 extra hoses, and also purchased the Hayward W560 Leaf collector unit (my pool is under many oaks). Everything works great. I did have a problem with the first hose (that attaches to the critter) cracking, so I had to purchase a replacement (thru Amazon).
We used to use the Rover Jr (over $300), which uses a power supply and doesn't hook up to the skimmer. I had so many problems with it that I gave up and tried the critter. I totally prefer the hoses and the use of the skimmer instead of the Rover Jr. The Rover's line (from power supply to the unit) tangled up on itself and was difficult to untangle. Also, all the junk gets collected into a bag that you have to clean (yuck). After the power supply went after one season, I decided to try the critter, and I'm glad I did. Note that the critter doesn't pick up acorns (which is why I docked it a star).

hbkdinobot: First of all I had a dirty pool bottom after a season of leaves and even small rocks that the dogs kick up into the pool.
The pool vacuum is very easy to connect. It comes with several hose lengths that are easy to connect to the desired size of your pool. The end hooks straight to your suction port of your skimmer also very easy.
The first couple of days the vac needed some TLC. It would get clogged up with leaves and the small rocks.
If you have larger debris like this a leaf filter between the vac and the filter besides your skimmer is a must. I had to empty the leaf filter 5-6 times the first 2 days. It's a pain, but it's the vacuum doing its job.
Back to getting clogged. It will stop moving. So it needs to be unclogged. My leaves are not like maple leaves. I would say about silver dollar size leaves. I pulled out what I saw and then the vac needs to be back washed. I took off the hose except the one piece that connects to the vacuum and put it up to the pool return port to push water through backwards. I had to do this probably 5 times the first day.
You have to do this several times at different angles to get all the leaves and rocks out,...

Hex92: UPDATE one year later:
Doesn't work any more. This thing is supposed to make 3 left turns, go straight and then make 3 right turns. Now it only makes left turns. So it zips around the pool and gets stuck behind the ladder. It lasted 54 weeks....but 32 of those weeks it was in a box with the pool closed. So not so great.
I will try to disassemble to see if I can fix it.

I have had this for almost 2 weeks now. It works great randomly going back and forth and vacuuming the pool. You might need to buy the separate leaf canister to hook it up to your pool (I did).
I have a 1.5 horsepower Hayward pump and a 24ft round pool and it will look great after just a couple of hours. I bought an under bed plastic storage bin to keep all the hoses in so they won't get bent.
The only problem I have had is that tulip poplar seed pods are just the right size to get stuck in the suction opening. So if I look out and see the bug just kinda stuck in the same place for awhile I have to go out, turn off the pump, pull the critter out of the pool and then use a set of needle nose pliers to remove the pod. Its only happened...
