DocMarmoDocMarmo: They do the job but I sent them back because the manufacturer sent the two of them in a bag with no separator therefore they rub up against each other in shipping scratching the paint finish. Other than that I would give them five stars as they seem to be solid and well-built.

Karen S: Like that it did work; I am able to slide keyboard table in and out. Holes did not line up with the original holes; but able to make it work. Very sturdy product. Little rough sliding at first but a few squirts of WD40 and if worked much better.

Would I get these again? - Hard NO for daily use
I've had to rotate out the workstation slides with the 2 other units I bought for occasional use. The locking mechanisms have worn out or fallen out, letting the tray skew or just slide in while you type. I'll be looking elsewhere for the next set as more and more products I buy here seem to be of throwaway quality.

5 years in and using these for a daily driver work desk, an occasional computer desk and another workstation that gets used maybe once every few months. The depth adjustability is nice so you don't have to flatten your keyboard to close it. The (when new) lock securely in and out and keep your keyboard and mouse where it needs to be, even while occasionally gaming. However, if you use these daily and lock it in and out on a daily basis, the locks will stop working. The rubber pieces that lock them will fall out or become dislodged leaving you with a keyboard that will torque sideways and no longer lock. The metal mounts that screw to the bottom of the desktop are softer than I'd like, allowing for a LOT of torsion if your equipment is robust.

stakenyf: I have an old computer desk that just won't quit...except for the keyboard tray sliding rails. Thanks to these, my desk is almost like new. Granted it is a little awkward to install but if you take your time and think it through it should go without a hitch. The build is of higher quality than the original ones and the sliding is smooth and has lock positions at both extremes (full retracted and fully pushed in). I would recommend this product.

Amazon Customer: These keyboard slides are so much better than what came with my computer desk. They are strong and glide smoothly. I had no problems installing them. When I ordered them I thought they were a bit pricey but when they came and I saw how well they were made, the price was reasonable for what they are. I would buy these again if I need to replace the ones on my other desk. I recommend them.

Aaron: I've converted regular office bookshelves into standing desks twice now. Simply place a monitor on shelf so that it's at eye-height, and mount a sliding keyboard tray under a shelf that's a comfortable height, maybe drill a few 1" holes in the shelves to run cables if you need to, and you're done. When the tray is pushed fully back into the shelving it does protrude a few inches beyond the normal front of the shelving, but I don't think it's too unsightly.
I used these keyboard rails for my second project. They worked as expected... the slide quality is good, and the installation process was easy enough. It comes with hardware screw the brackets to the fixed shelf, but I needed to add a few wood screws to attach the board I chose to use as the tray. As other reviewers have said, these rails can be mounted with the brackets facing out (easier installation) or facing inwards (slightly trickier to install, but gaining an inch or two of tray width). I chose the wider tray width, and even with a wireless keyboard and mouse there is plenty of space.

iMikeiMike: I bought these to replaced the previous keyboard tray I had, so I had to drill the holes wider for the largers screws that fit my desk. I didn't want to put more holes into the underside of the desk. The screws that were included with these rails were fairly small and I doubt they would hold on for long.
I used some nuts and washers too (they were not included with the hardware). It's holding up pretty good, though I would not recommend this for a desk made of particleboard, unless you have your own hardware to secure it all together.

Perfectionist: I type on my keyboard pretty much all day, every day. I recently added a new computer to the office and, in turn, needed another keyboard. I decided to splurge on a quality mechanical keyboard (which, in retrospect, I should have done years ago) and, subsequently, have been seeking the perfect positioning on my desk for comfortable, fast, and accurate typing. After much experimentation, I found that I preferred the keyboard to be very low - essentially right on my lap. Not wanting to keep a keyboard (especially a corded one) on my lap all day, though, I decided to use an under-desk keyboard tray.
I've had several under-desk keyboard trays over the years, ranging from inexpensive and basic, to costly and (supposedly) high-end. I haven't been happy with any of them. Ironically, some of the fanciest and most expensive models performed the worst. I have pretty basic requirements; I want my keyboard tray to be:
1. Adjustable to the exact height where I want it
2. Rock solid, with no wobbling and without tearing hunks of material out of my desk because it's cantilevered out too far
3. Large, both with respect to width and depth, ideally filling all of the space...

Aleksander Malinowski: There are a lot of otherwise great desks with missing keyboard trays. On the other hand, there are mediocre or impractical desks with handy keyboard trays. This product prevents you from being a hostage to the desk manufacturers. Buy your favorite good-looking desk and install missing or replace poorly designed keyboard trays. That way you can have the best of both designs. And you can make the tray as wide and deep as still reasonable and practical. Of course, you can always purchase a well-designed desk for several thousands of dollars and possibly skip this do-it-yourself step.
