My husband installed this fan in our bedroom. He said it was fairly easy to install, but he's not a newbie at installing fans, lights, etc. It's hooked up to a switch to turn it on and off and we attached the remote to the wall by the switch. Turning the switch on turns it on to it's last setting. The fan is good and has three settings. The light is really dim. Our bedroom is about 12x18 and this light does not illuminate the entire room. If I drop something in the corner, I'm not going to find it just by this light. It's a light kit so we can't put a brighter bulb in it.

One other issue is the setting for the light. To get it as bright as possible, you have to hold down the light button on the remote. If you hold it down too long it begins to dim again. It would be nice to just be able to turn it all the way up and leave it there.

If you want a nice looking fan, this is a good option. If you want a light for a room, this is not a good option.
