Gerard T. Lee: I purchased this unit to replace a fan that stopped working (after 15yrs). I thought I purchased the low profile model ... Alas, this was the "normal" one. I installed it anyway even though technically there isn't sufficient clearance (floor to fan blades). I went forward because this fan sits above my baby grand piano so there's no chance of anyone getting hit by a fan blade.
Installation was simple and straightforward ... The most difficult task was removing the old fan because I'd forgotten how I installed it. In the end, I've found that I prefer this model because the fan vibrates far less than one solidly mounted to the ceiling. If you install a low profile model, you have to spend more time balancing the blades to minimize vibration. This is a very good fan that cost half of the one it replaced.

Amy: The media could not be loaded. It is super quiet! We have this in our bedroom and it does us wonders, but would be perfect for a livingroom or dining room too. The fan has a standard 3 speed setting, it is light weight and doesn't wobble. We are happy with our purchase.
