Kelsey: Hannah Brown and I are very different and have had different experience but these experiences led to the same and similar traumas, outcomes, and reactions. It’s so nice to be able to read someone who I watched on TV thinking “wow she has it all together” and realizing that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Times where I was stalking her IG to “see her next move” as a distraction from my own life when all she was trying to do was figure out hers. We have a very similar, if not the same, faith. Just now finding myself and getting back where I feel I belong, much like Hannah described in the book. I still have a ways to go, but knowing I’m not the only one brings peace.
If you’re looking for tea on her TV time it’s there, but if that’s all you’re looking for, I’d recommend another source. This book is definitely her journey in life, love, and Jesus. And for me, that’s exactly what I was looking for.

LIttle Girlie: Ms Hanna Brown, you wrote one fine book, and do you know what makes it so readable and easy to follow, and learn from? you are not the psychiatrist, nor psychologist nor social worker, you are just another Girl like myself and plenty of others trying to get healthy, and that makes it so real!! I am more than old enough to be your mom, I am 68 yrs old and have been on a path for years. When I was about your age, just a bit younger maybe, I kept asking myself why I couldn't say no. I could never say no, and therefore had plenty of issues on my hands at different times in life. I had to do therapy with a psychologist for years, and still call him once in a while if I get stumped on something and don't know how to handle it all. I am also a voracious reader and that has helped me more than I can say. I also have a relationship with Great Spirit and I talk to him as i would anyone here on this earth plane. Bless you for writing this book so that many can learn what we have been through and maybe they can shorten it down a bit as you more or less said in the book.. Delaney Dixon: I have always been a Hannah B fan for not only her honesty and realness, but her ability to recognize her mistakes and learn from it. This memoir is further evidence of her ability to reflect deeply on tragedy, heartbreak, and rejection.

The book covers it all-- childhood, teenage years, family, pageantry, Bachelor/Bachelorette, and DWTS. She explains and reflects on major pivotal events in her life ranging from a devastating tragedy, parents fighting (which I can relate to), body image issues, blatant misogyny seen at a young age, white fragility, and the challenges with being in the spotlight. One quote that stuck out to me the most about tragedy was along the lines of the idea that trauma is uncomfortable to process and share with others, but it happens anyway. There is no control of traumatic events in life and humans are not equipped to handle it on their own, which is why professional therapy is so necessary and helpful.

What I appreciate the most about this memoir compared to others in Bachelor nation, is that she told stories from the lens of what she was feeling, while also being mindful of what other people may have been experiencing as well. None of the...
