If this collar had a weakness she would have easily snapped it ! A broken collar can equal a dead dog. When she's fully grown then she'll get her permanent collar, until then this will do nicely.

Adam: Well made sturdy collar would of liked just one extra hole for the buckle but overall pleased with it

Amazon Customer: The rivet has broken after a months use, but my dog can still use it until it gets replaced because it's well-stitched. It looks great though with good quality leather.

sharednw: Delivered quickly, great price and seems to be good quality that hopefully should last for several years. Would definitely recommend this collar. Sizing: I spent a long time trying to figure out which size to order after numerous reviewers complained that the collar was too small. It seems that many competing collars are sold by neck size; that is, they are actually several inches longer than the stated size that refers to the middle hole (for example, an 18" collar would fit a neck 18" plus or minus a couple inches). But this collar is exactly 18" from one end of collar/middle of buckle to the other end, and the four holes are between 13" and just under 16". Our welsh corgi needed about 13 1/2" (for 12" neck and another 1 1/2" to make sure it's not too tight), so it fits fine and gives him a little room to grow.

SeinaSeina:
I have a bloodhound. She is SO strong. She broke two nylon collars in the first six months after we adopted her (she was almost two at the time) just by pulling on the leash. I thought I'd learned after the first one and the next collar had metal fixtures... Nope. I bought this leather collar two and a half years ago and she is still wearing it today. The burgundy is not as red as it appears in the picture but it is still a great, rich color. The metal fastenings have worn down some, revealing copper underneath, but the construction hasn't deteriorated at all. Ellie swims in the collar all summer and rolls in the snow all winter and scratches the hell out of her neck all the time and the collar has held up beautifully. I would absolutely buy again, if the need ever arises, and I would recommend this collar to anyone.
September 2017 edit-- going on five years now and she's still wearing this collar. It's holding up great! Fantastic quality.
Another update--we used this collar for the entire remainder of her life. She died in September 2021 (RIP Ellie) so we used it for almost nine years. The color dulled and the finish wore down on the hardware but...

I purchased this in the 22" size, and my dog's neck measures 19". I was worried after reading some reviews it might not have been the right size, but it fits her well on the next to last hole, and the leather is thick, sturdy, and its really a very nice looking collar. Sashi looks like quite the handsome dog in her new duds and the price was right on this buy. Hopefully it holds up well over time and I'm not buying her a new one any time soon. Her previous nylon collar the buckle itself broke after about 3 years.
Edit: Our girl has been wearing this for a few weeks now, and one thing I've noticed is if you're really worried about how defined the styling is on this collar, don't be. Every time she scratches, the collar gets a new "scar" from her nails. I can't even see the original tooling in the leather from all of the scrapes and scratches on it from her nails. That said, I bought this collar because it was simply designed and looked like it would hold up well over time.
I can't say if the dye bleeds when it gets wet as we live in the desert, and neither of our girls are keen on playing in the rain.

Dachs1: Dog Collar is very nice quality. I bought for Toy poodle. after cutting it down to fit, it works very well. heavy leather construction. Actually, the 3/4 inch width is too big, but I got used to the heaviness. Dog did too. I also purchased a brass 3/4 wide name plate to rivet on. Drilled extra holes using the piece I cut off as a template as well as holes to mount the brass name plate. Lots of positive comments from neighbors. A very masculine looking collar being its on such a little female dog. She tolerates it well, not too heavy. BTW I am using the 6 inches I cut off as a key fob. 2 birds-one stone.

Gray Haley: I purchased five of these for my rescue cats ranging in size from 12 pounds to 16 pounds. They are inside only cats. The hole closest to the end fits perfectly for all but the largest cat and we needed to add an extra hole. When we measured their necks ahead of time they measured 10 to 10 1/2 inches. The 3/8 inch width is the perfect look for a cat's neck. I have been searching for months at many different stores and online for leather collars and they have all been expensive in price or looked inexpensive in quality because I am tired of buying less durable ones and replacing sometimes monthly. I have only had these on for a couple of days but it is obvious they are made of a very durable quality leather. Since they are on cats I can not tell you how they will hold up against water:) The holes are larger which could cause weak spots over time since they are only 3/8 inch in width, but time will tell. The buckle is very shiny and heavy and looks expensive. The collars ranged from more redish burgundy to more brown but that wasn't a problem for me. A few of the collars were a little harder to get on because the leather was thick compared to the buckle but...

Brandon W: Very sturdy, nice colour to the leather. Little bit big we had to punch an extra hole but that's no knock on the manufacturer. Overall worth the buy!
