J: Its okay, however I don’t find it is very good at making nice crispy waffles. Still on the search for something that makes crispy waffles.
Functionally it works great. I don’t really go by the light indicators, but rather time it myself or check on it to see if its done.

It would be nice to have a timer, but it’s easy to check and make sure they are ready. We mainly bought it because of the removable plates. Easy to take off and wash! We made strawberry waffles and nothing stuck to the plates , so we were happy.

Kristen S: The Hamilton Beach Flip Waffle Maker is a quality product. The waffles that it makes are perfectly browned and crispy on the exterior and the inside they are light and fluffy. The "flip" feature ensures the yummy interior of your waffle. The non-stick plates reveal evenly cook the outside (even though they're non-stick, I spray a small amount of cooking oil spray or brush some melted butter on them... the butter helps with the browning, and makes them even more delicious!). The metal plates are easily removed, and can be put into the dishwasher. Also a drip plate is included, so if your batter overflows it'll catch it, which makes for easy clean up. I haven't yet figured out exactly how much batter to use so it won't overflow, but I'll update this once I do.

Two days ago was Thanksgiving. I took my leftover stuffing and pressed it onto the bottom plate, closed it and let it cook for a few minutes. It ended up being super delicious! Just like a waffle, the outside was crisp and the inside was soft and moist. I'm so sad because I forgot to take a photo of it to share with you all. Greenwald: I got this on cyber monday it was not as good a deal as I was lead to believe $27.58 then when I went back to see about another one same day it was a different price in the 50 dollar's then later same day it was $ 67.99 and you had to go to a different seller now today day when I looked it is $35.99 wow so this review is on I'm not sure what one LOL
makes good waffles and easy to remove them, and Unfortunately, this waffle maker didn't come with recipes :(

PROS:
- It makes nice Belgian waffles; . A setting of 2-1/2 turned the waffles nicely brown.
- The indicator light turns green when the unit is ready for the batter and when the waffles are done.
- The waffle maker is easy to flip.
- It has a collapsible handle for storage.
- The waffle irons are easily removed for cleaning This is a great feature.
- Any spillage is caught by the plastic drip tray which is very easy to clean.
- The waffle irons and drip tray are dishwasher safe as long as the SANI setting on the dishwasher is not used. I don't use the dishwasher, so this point about being dishwasher safe was not tested by me but the instructions say this is possible so I'll take them at their...

Candid Reviewer: This Hamilton Beach Flip Belgian Waffle Maker is capable of making some excellent waffles--every bit as good as the kind many people enjoy at the continental breakfast line at some hotels, with the only difference being that this waffle maker does not have an automated timer that beeps when the waffle is ready. Instead, you dial in the desired temp setting (I set mine on 1, the second-lowest option), pour on the batter, close the lid and rotate the handle to turn the griddles over, then wait approximately five minutes until the steaming tapers off. Lift the lid and VOILA! You have an exquisite waffle!

Obviously, the taste and cook time of the waffles depends on the recipe for the batter you use. I find that mixes which include eggs make the fluffiest most authentic tasting kind, but if you look around you can find a good one that does not require you to whip/beat the egg whites, which is tiring and time-consuming. There are also some good instant mixes out there.

I noticed other reviewers commenting that some of these do not heat properly. I did not have that problem. Mine gets piping/steaming hot and has given me no trouble. It takes about 5-7 minutes to initially...
