Dr. M. Dunlap Beales: We do a lot of cooking and have a lot of equipment, appliances, and gear.My smaller food processor stopped working*(it was probably exhausted) and I needed a replacement.
This the perfect, hard working small but not too small sized food processor. We have several other bigger ones but this fits the bill.Perfect for chopping, mixing small amounts of food, like dips, etc.Works well, cleans up very easily and the price is right~

astuteshopper: I bought one of these for $35 in 2008. It lasted until now! I decided to renew it by buying a new one and giving the old one to goodwill. I was not disappointed! The new one is just like the old one except quieter and sharper. This is the best food processor I’ve ever owned. I use it for chopping grating slicing and combining ground meat and ingredients for burgers. The size is also perfect for a family of 4. I wouldn’t do dough in it and you don’t get a tool for that anyway. For chopping needs theres none better imho.

Amazon Customer: Good value for money. My Black and decker processor broke so I decided to buy this one and honestly l prefer using this one instead.

jennifer r.: The media could not be loaded.  This product saved me soooo much time!!! It is easy to assemble, a pleasure to use, the blade is awesome, large components make it easy to clean (there is no chance of food particles getting stuck in hard to reach places), and it’s just simply beautiful and user friendly. We make large batches of riced cauliflower for cauliflower pizza crusts. It used to take hours because my other food processor and my other blender were very temperamental and difficult to line up ( we all know if everything doesn’t line up our appliances won’t work and I hated having to play repair woman)... Love, love, love this food processor and I use it all of the time!

Kindle Customer: I own a Cuisinart, but it was packed away from our move, I wasn't able to get to it, and had a lot of chopping coming up, so I looked around at 'cheap' models for a stand-in, and chose this one. I have issues w/ my hands functioning properly sometimes, and need something for those times when a lot of chopping/dicing is required.

I paid less for this last year, when I purchased it. It was definitely worth what I paid for it then, and I think it's also worth its current price of thirty USD.

This machine has done the job, and done it well.

The chute thing - The only thing I've wanted to use that for so far (coleslaw) was a fail. The cute was too small for the cabbage wedges. But I suppose for skinny things like carrots, it would be fine. ( 5-14-17 edit - It shreds carrots as well as my Cuisinart. )

If you need something for chopping, and can't spend a lot, try this machine. It does the trick, does it quickly, and does it well.

5-14-17 edit
I have since found my Cuisinart, and left it in the garage. This machine has yet to be unable to do what I need done.

E.K.: I bought Hamilton Beach 6 Cup Food Processor a month ago, used it couple of time to make salads and to prepare soups.
It slices as required, it has very sharp blades and the engine is very effective, used it only in "pulse" mode as it is more than enough to prepare the material otherwise you'd get a vegetables paste in a blink of an eye if you're not careful.
All in all I recommend this product for its price and for the comfort it brings.
Amazon delivery service was fast as well.

Dave: I have searched for a smaller food processor that would shred. This one seemed to meet my needs so I figured it was worth trying. I am so pleased with the end results! It's easy to use and easy to clean and does a fabulous job even with a small amount of food to shred. Would definitely recommend this.

MP: I read the reviews for all the brands before buying this. I'm glad I did. After throwing out another processor with truly dismal function, I didn't care what it cost - I just wanted something that worked! I was doubtful about the Hamilton Beach - it's very highly rated for such a low price. But I've just used it to make a huge pot of multi-vegetable soup and I'm delighted.

I don't understand the complaint about food staying unchopped on the walls and bottom of the bowl - with a bowl full of onions, I didn't have that problem. People are right, though, about how the control knob slips when you've got wet hands. It means using a teatowel to turn the knob when you're working with wet stuff, which is a nuisance.

Locking and unlocking the bowl is easy. Clean-up's simple. It fits easily into a normal sized cabinet. (And you'll want to put it away- it's efficient, not beautiful.)

And it's amazing how much better this food processor is than some others. I am throwing out a Black & Decker for which I paid much more than this at the local hardware store. The first two times I used the Black & Decker the bowl was almost impossible to lock,...

Pali: I own a Hamilton Beach Change a Bowl processer which can only grate and slice. Had it for about 4 years and it still works great. I however wanted one that could chop, slice and grate and after looking at the reviews decided on this one.

I am really pleased that I did go with it - it works like a dream. I can chop onions, sweet peppers etc with just a few pulses without making salsa-lol!. They come out just as if chopped by hand without all the tears and time to do it. It saves me about an hour a day chopping onions (5lbs minimum) and sweet peppers by hand - I get it done in 5 minutes.

All of the other choppers which I had previously made the onions etc very soggy. The slicing and grating works very well too. Very powerful motor.

I havent tried making dough etc, but will update my review in a few months when I have tried out other things.

At $30 dollars its well worth it. I do hope it last as long as the change-a-bowl.

update: My breadmaker stopped working and I mix the dough using the same recipe as the breadmaker with my HB processor - powerful motor - a two pound loaf size mixed in less than a minute using pulse, no...
