I honestly did not realize the extent of our mosquito problem until I heard the constant and never-ending pop sound the machine makes when a mosquito or fly contacts the blue light. When I put "food leftovers" in the trashcan of my kitchen, I often get fruit flies and other insects flying in my apartment. This device draws the bugs with its UV light and exterminates all of them. I can hear the sound when a bug is electrocuted and I can smell the burning of these insects. Quite effective!

Whatever is bugging you, this should work. I'm using it in my shop, which right now is serving as a body shop and paint booth for a car I'm restoring. I don't want to chance having any bugs land on fresh paint, so I got this. I am surprised how many moths it has captured. Several flies and a wasp, too. I've never had one of these before, but on a couple of occasions when I went to empty it, moths and a fly have flown away, so I'm not sure if they just got stunned or hadn't been zapped yet. It seems to work. I have a lot fewer bugs that might land on fresh paint.

Ordered this to get rid of the annoying mosquitos that get into my house. They bite me and I swell in the bite area. It immediately went to work when I plugged it in. I spent a day researching zappers and at the end of the day none will meet all your expectations. That said I settled on this one because of cost. It does what I need it to do. I didn't want to shell out a bunch of money for other zappers with the same issues. It was worth the buy.
So the Zapper does work. I literally enjoy hearing the big POP when it traps and kills a bug. However there are a few reasons I would not buy this particular zapper again. If the Zapper had at least a 5 ft cord and an on off switch I would give it 10 stars.
Pros
- it works as advertised
- easy to clean just remove bottom
- attracts bugs in dark room only
- light weight, easy to move around
Cons
- the cord is way way too short
- cord is 30 inches long
- you need to use an extension cord
- no on/off switch to turn on/off
- if using outdoors definitely need to hook up to a very long extension cord
