If you're a Verizon FiOS customer buying this as a replacement, save yourself the trouble and buy direct from Verizon. I bought this as low-cost replacement (or so I thought) for my original FiOS backup battery, since it was about half the cost of what Verizon offered via their site. Big mistake. This battery lasted less than a year (without any major power outages). I contemplated trying to get it replaced, as they stated a 3 yr warranty, but was discouraged after reading the failed attempts to do so by others. Basically, they were ignored. Bottom line, it's not worth your time and effort. If these last less than a year, you'll buy 6-8 of them @ $25 vs. one from Verizon @ $50. Do the math.
Another very important thing to consider is will it work and for how long, when the power goes out.
Unfortunately, before mine failed, I recommended it to a friend who then purchased it. If his lasts longer, I'll update this review. However, if I were you, I wouldn't take any chances. You need your FiOS phone to work, when the power goes out.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT work for Verizon ;-)

Best Dad Ever: Received a different battery and was advised by the seller that the battery was equivalent or better. Clear instructions on removing old battery from my Verizon FIOS box. This eliminated the annoying "replace battery alarm" that was going off for a few weeks in my garage. Has worked flawlessly and no red flags so far. Highly recommended. One year now and battery still working nicely

Tom from Temecula, CA: Low battery light and sound stopped as soon as I installed the VICI battery. Installation did not need any extra parts. However, in about three weeks low battery sign and sound came back. I thought the battery was defective and I started the process to return it. The seller sent an email advising me to check the battery's voltage; if voltage was OK, it recommended to disconnect and reconnect the battery. The voltage was about 13.5 V. When I did what was recommended, everything was back to normal. There was no need to return it. I think they should include this info in the installation/user manual.

stars: My battery that came with my Verizon fios install began to beep due to low battery. I called Verizon tech support and the rep said that Verizon can send me a new battery for about $48 plus shipping. Furthermore he said the battery they provide from Verizon only has a 1 year manufacturer warranty. He suggested I try checking online 3rd party for a replacement battery as they are easy to source. I chose this particular battery because it fits the exact description I needed and it comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty as compared to the rest of the competition that only comes with a 1 year warranty. I received the unit in quick fashion and it fits perfect for an easy battery install swap. And it only cost about $20 with free shipping for a big cost savings. Perfect.

tim mangini: Battery was easy to install and works fine, but after 11 months it started generating a low battery warning. The company instructed me to go through a reboot procedure, a five minute nuisance which solved the beeping problem, but then it started doing it more often. Returning the battery is impractical as they require you to pay return shipping so I tried to get the vendor to replace it. They told me the Verizon units are defective so I tested the battery and it is putting out a full 13.2 v. Apparently there is a well known problem with the Verizon device that causes it to arbitrarily show a low battery warning. Here's what you do to check:
Unplug the Verizon unit.
Remove the battery and disconnect the leads.
If you have a battery tester check the voltage. If it is over 13 volts you're battery is working properly and it is the Fios unit.
If you do not have a tester, wait five minutes, reconnect the leads, put the battery back in, and plug the unit in. If the beeping stops, you are likely fine for a while.
Alternatively, if you do not need your phone during a power outage you can just leave the battery out and use your cell phone.
