Comments

Dee: Fun story about a dinosaur hatchling growing up with a bigger dinosaur sibling. I really enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to reading it to my grandsons (5, 2 and newborn) as they grow. Colorful illustrations and a delight to have in a collection of kids books.

Amazon Customer: My three year old LOVED this book. We started to read it to him about two weeks before the baby came home and it seemed to make complete sense to him. Highly recommended and not gender specified for either sibling.

Lauren: Bought this to introduce the idea of a baby brother to my 2yo son. He really liked readying the book because its about dinos! Plus he liked the part about how he's perfect to show the new baby the ropes. It didn't completely prepare him for how delicate and needy a baby is but I think it laid a good foundation. The baby is now 2 months old. My older son doesn't request this book very much anymore but he does have a lot of books so hard to know why he lost/shifted interest

Soulrissa: It's easy to follow. Images are nice and simple. My little guys is obsessed with dinosaurs. We read it 5 times straight the first day.

Amy M Xu: So this is a very sweet and adorable book (my pregnant self teared up while reading it a few times). It does a great job of going through some of the harder sides of having a sibling (the waiting for sibling to arrive and the fact that they don't really "do" anything at first being some examples). It also does an excellent job of going through some positives (playing together when sibling is older and being a good role model for sibling who wants to be just like you!). The illustrations a eye catching and fun for little kids.

My only caveat is that I bought this for my dinosaur obsessed 2.5yo son and it's written a little over his head. He isn't as captivated by this book as he the other book we bought (Caroline Jayne Church's "I'm a Big Brother" which is very simple). I've modified some of the text in order to cut down on the words, but it's still a bit much for him.

Asht: Such a cute book!! For an only child to understand a new baby is coming this is perfect. Especially for a kid that’s in love with dinosaurs. Quickly became by son’s favorite book to learn about “Pee Wee,” his new sibling, on the way. We even had to drag it through 3 states on a vacation. Picture are so cute and kid friendly, it has some silly moments in it to laugh at, but describes the process very well. This book even talks about when the baby is FINALLY here the baby can’t really do anything even though the big brother is so excited to share and teach the new baby everything!
