Please be aware that in older houses your outlet recess may not be as deep as this requires, we did struggle with one kitchen replacement which is not due to this product but that we have an older house. Everyone is very impressed with these and it has cut back on the kids stealing the charger blocks. Make sure to not just use these everywhere as we replaced every single outlet with them but they don’t allow for large 6 panel outlet plugs. This can also be avoided by using a surge protector with multiple outlets though. We’ve tested these now for about 3 months and they are one of my favorite upgrades to my home. Highly recommend.

digdesdev: Despite negative reviews this is a good product.
Regarding reported problems getting the wires on the screws, those are because the wires are not supposed to go on the screws. The proper way to use this outlet is to loosen the screws first, but not so far that they come out. There are holes in the back to insert the stripped wire(s) and when the wire(s) are inserted, you tighten the screws which clamp the wires tightly. To remove a wire you just loosen the screw and remove the wire. This is not the same as the spring that holds the wires in older socket designs. It is much more reliable and easier to use than having to wrap the wire around the screw.
One thing that all GFCI outlets have in common and can cause installation problems is that there are Line (input) and Load (output) terminals. If the incoming power is connected to the Load terminals then the outlet will not work and the unit will appear defective when it is not. The Load (output) terminals are there to connect to other outlets which will then all be protected against ground faults. If you only have one set of incoming power wires then be sure to connect it to the LIne terminals as marked on the...

AZsurfing: The GFCI works well. However, I found it difficult to get the wire to stay input in the back receptacles. Requires the right length of wire cutting and a lot of tightening. Also, good luck trying to get the wire to attach to the side terminals because the GFCI does not allow them to come out very far.
It takes quite the effort to plug something into the lower power outlet with the tamper resistance feature. Otherwise, it looks good and the cost was very good. Included instructions were very clear and straight forward.
UPDATE: After a considerable push effort to enter a plug into the bottom outlet, and I heard what amounts to a cracking sound, the lower outlet is now much easier to receive a plug from an electrical appliance.

Ryan P.: Installed one of these in my shed a year or 2 ago. Worked fine for lights and battery chargers, but it always trips on my radial saw and a portable table saw. Ended up replacing it with a different brand that does not trip on those motors.
