He has some medical issues resulting from the residual effects of a disease he had as a puppy. As a result of that, along with the side-effects from a medication he's prescribed, he gets a dull coat and dry skin. To remedy that, I turned to omega-3 supplements.

I initially tried #1:
Amazing Nutritionals Omega-3 Fish Oil Chew-able Tablet for Dogs, 120 tabs
These worked well. It was easy to regulate his dosage at meal time, he loved the taste, he digested them well, and he had marked improvement in his coat. It was shinier and he was less prone to shedding on a gradual timescale. As a plus to me, it was odorless, easy to handle, and easy to store - basically all the things that would sound obvious gives an advantage to a solid tablet over a liquid oil. Additionally, as cost will be mentioned later, $/dosage is pretty reasonable. He was on this, twice daily, for about a year. That is how much I loved this product. However, I was never "moved" to do a review.

However, after some increased dosage of his prescription and some other factors, his skin started to get much drier. His coat went back to being dull, and he was shedding much more...

bubbls311: We got a dog back in September (it's now December) and I was immediately extremely attached. She was like the answer to a prayer and was a wonderful source of comfort and love. I have bipolar disorder and that sometimes causes extreme depression or mania. With the depression this dog would be there for me as a source of love and with the mania she was there for me to pet and she soothed me until I could calm down some. You can imagine my dismay when I realized that after all this time of becoming so bonded and attached to her I was allergic to her dry skin. After she had a bath at the local groomers she came home with an awful case of dry, itchy skin. She was scratching constantly and it was an awful torment to both of us. She would scratch and I would cough. The upper respiratory symptoms that I developed were absolutely awful. I was coughing constantly and could barely breathe at times. She used to sit up on the couch with me and also went to bed with me as a constant comfort.
