DerekDerek: I do like this bike but be advised it does require some tuning as the description says. I had a difficult time getting the front derailleur to shift the three gears straight as there are five adjustment points. Didn't bother me much cuz I'm a tinkerer but for someone not so mechanically inclined this could be quite the headache. I took a star away because I had to buy a new riser head and peddles. The handle bars are way too low and stretched out to the front to point of I'm leaning way forward to reach them. The peddles are just junk. I don't trust my life with them just cruising down the road less yet on a trail.

Original review:
The instructions that come with the bike are total garbage. It pretty much just tells you to take the bike to a shop, go slow, ask questions, use grease (I didn't), and use muscle (what?). There are no step by step instructions and no tools provided. I'm pretty handy and did eventually get it working well. Getting the handlebars, seat, front disk brakes, and front wheel "on" is pretty self explanatory, however pretty much nothing was lined up correctly (even stuff installed at the factory). If you don't have that front brake lined up perfectly, it sounds aweful when riding and it's pretty finicky about placement. I also had to adjust the back brake position. The derailleurs needed to be tuned (thanks internet) so that it would shift properly and quietly, but it's pretty quiet now. In the end, I still have an extra piece. It's a J-shaped piece of metal with some holes in it. There's already an identical piece like this installed on the back of the bike and it does not fit on the...

I am not sure about recommending this bike for a large man. It's just the chain, I should have had the derailer professionally adjusted maybe. I'll still give it 4 stars.

I ordered this bike with apprehension, being a bit larger than the average bear. I'm 6'-6", so I thought I would take a chance. The parts are top quality for a bike this price(under $400), and the front/rear disk brakes AND front/rear suspension are unheard of at under $400, at least everywhere I looked.
I got the box, and took the bike out of the box. I only had to attach the handlebars to the frame, attach the front wheel, and the pedals. I discovered I also had to attach a front brake line. Then I put the seat on and tightened it up. Easy enough to do everything with a 5mm hex wrench. Everything looked great!
Then I got on the bike and took off. Pretty much a disaster. I'm glad I survived. I hadn't really ridden a mountain bike for several years, and forgot there's a little bit more work needed to do after the bike is "assembled".
