Ted A.: The blade is super sharp and easy to sharpen with just a handheld ceramic sharpener. I would recommend not using the thumb assist to open it as it puts your skin in the blade's way. The lock is very effective so you need not worry about this bad boy springing open in your pants pocket. That said, make SURE this is in the locked position all the time. It opens faster than you can see it.
I use this knife at work to open boxes while in a walk-in freezer So I don't need to knife inside every time. It does have a bloodline, in case you're using it for personal protection.

Christina & Eric: Ive been collecting knives for more than 30 years. I've seen cheap to very high end. I say buy 2, because it's worth it. Heck, you could buy 3 for the price of one name brand and not be afraid to use / abuse them. I bought 2 on a lightening sale and am very happy with them. They are true automatic opening knives (aok) and perform well. Blades are centered with almost no slop. I like the blade lock and pocket clip as well. Pretty sharp out of the box, but I still recommend sharpening and honing. I prefer non painted blades, because when they do get scratches or the paint wears off it looks bad. Not a deal breaker for these. I believe they'll be great edc (every day carry), camp knives and Christmas gifts.

Rick Randolph: The blade is a high quality still sharp. It has a lock magnesium on the back, so it will not open. In your pocket, it is a nice size with a fingernard..
