david fong: I love it's 7" long blade. No, the lock up is not heavy duty and will probably loosen if you chop with it. I have a vintage Gerber mkii but I will be carrying this on the trail. Of course it's primary job will be to cut plastic food packets. To me worth what I paid. And nice sheath too.

Jason RaubJason Raub: The design in theory makes practical sense, but in practice in the real world not so much.

But, the knife is super cool nonetheless, just use loctite on all the handle screws & it's a solid knife.

I like the one I ordered just to play around with & show family, it's very unique & pretty.

*UPDATE*

The blade steel on this thing is very very high quality, I figured this out wanting to convert it to a 3 inch pocket knife (Which went very well) because I can carry it on me now without the sheath & it's legal to carry now where I live.

It locks closed & it locks open, very very nice project knife too, and the steel reminds me of case pocket knives steel because it will not bend it'll spring back unless you abuse it then it'll snap just like a case pocket knife but I'm talking bend it in almost a u shape which I doubt anyone that likes it will do.

E.J.: This is a pretty decent knife. As a collector of not overly expensive, but well made knives, I don't look for too many bells and whistles. I did have some issues with the number of flaws on my 1st order, as given the price, I'd still expect a well made piece. This is Not an easy model to find well made at a low price. I've seen some sketchy and not to par versions floating around (with notably sub-par sheaths) and, not claiming higher quality steel. I commend this producer, (ASSUMING STEEL QUALITY IS GENUINE, AS I'VE NO TESTING ABILITY) on providing the best quality replicas with quality builds and materials.. not extreme sharpness, but satisfactory. Most importantly, customer service was outstanding for me, and that says the most!
