I was a bit apprehensive it wouldn't be shipped flat due to some of the negative reviews, but mine was. The seller was Gorilla Commerce and fulfilled by Amazon, in case that makes a difference. While it's a little thinner than I would like, it's a harder material than other mats I've had or seen which can be rolled up. The carpet studs are really short so, while they might be fine for low-pile or Berber carpet, they do next to nothing on my long-pile carpet...but I don't mind adjusting it one in a while--it's not like it moves every time I roll in my office chair. Between me and my chair I'm putting about 250 pounds on this mat, spread over five casters, and so far I haven't noticed any denting or cracking. Considering I use this for up to 10 hours a day, five days a week, if this thing lasts a year I'll be ecstatic because it will definitely have been worth the price I paid and I'll happily buy another. Another chair mat I bought on Amazon and was perfectly happy with is a Lorell tempered glass one (B07K95V7X2). Honestly, that one, without any studs or texture, didn't slide around any more than this Gorilla mat, and they cost...

KadellyKadelly: This is the most heavy-duty chair mat I've ever had, and I thought it would be perfect for our thick plush carpet. It doesn't shift, as long as it is entirely in contact with carpet, and my chair has so far not made divots in it. We got one for my husband and one for me. He sits at the computer a good part of every day, and his mat has cracked in one place after only a few months, so I can't give it 5 stars for durability. The crack hasn't affected his ability to roll around and use the mat, but it is a toe-catcher when he's barefoot. Update: After 14 months of use, my husband's mat has multiple cracks and snaps every time he moves - but he still can roll without problems. My mat has recently developed its first crack. We bought a new one for my husband. It's still the best mat I have found, but I guess I will just have to consider chair mats to be an annual expense (sigh). 2nd Update: My mat eventually developed lots of cracks and based on experience I figure they ought to last about a year with daily long-term use. I ordered a new one, which was delivered 5/31/22. Yesterday (7/19) I stepped on it and a large crack appears, from the outside edge, about 14” long. Today, the same...

cm keyescm keyes: I don't usually consider it fair to downrate a product/seller for issues with Amazon fulfillment & logistics, but since the product description on Amazon and printed labelling on the mats both announce their claims that the mats ship flat SO loudly, I feel that should put some extra responsibility on the seller to work that out with Amazon ahead-of-time, and not let them send me a NOT FLAT box containing a mat with a GIANT LABEL on it stating "DO NOT BEND - SHIPS FLAT" that is rolled up into a cylinder.
I purchased 2 mats initially (1 with lip and 1 without because I have two different shaped desks) and the first pair did indeed come flat in sleeves made by taping the ends of a shipping box together into a 2D pocket rather than folding the flaps into the usual 3D box. The one with lip arrived first , so I tried it for size under both desks, and decided both that a full rectangle mat would still fit under the desk with narrower "leg room" and that I wanted a third mat to bridge the gap between my work and personal computer desks (lined up on the same wall with a smallish gap in between) so that it would be easy to go between them. I set up a return for the mat with lip,...

RichRich: UPDATE
Even though I could not return it through Amazon, I sent an email with a picture and description of what went wrong, and just a little later in the day they responded and said they would be issuing a refund.
So while I am disappointed in the product itself, I do appreciate them doing the right thing and issuing a refund. So I upgraded my review from 1 star to 3 stars.
PRIOR POST
There is a huge break in the mat after less than two months of normal usage. The description says "Won’t Bend or Crack: this European made design is incredibly durable and meant to last for years" so this is really disappointing. Take a look at the image. It is not just a surface break, it is all the way through making the mat unusable and now I have to find a place to dispose of it.
Also, I paid a premium price. The cheap one I had before from Office Depot lasted for years and never broke. It just had an indentation. Should have kept that one I guess....
The "return window" is only 30 days so no simple solution there.
