Sandy: I have a mixed breed long haired cat and he sheds constantly. I recently realized that a good majority of his fur was matted which I didn’t know before. I had cut off one patch of matted fur before I found this product. After receiving it, it took a little over a week to work through all of the mats and knots. The product says it’s supposed to be painless but there were still times where it got caught in a knot and it did hurt to get it out. For the most part, it worked well to detangle the knots. The handle of the product is very soft. The size and weight of the product felt perfect for a cat. It seems like a sturdy well made product as well and I’m happy that I found this! My cat’s fur is sooo soft and smooth now so thank you Go Pets for this awesome product!

Janice Vitale: This product actually works! I usually dont write reviews but I wanted to share on this product. We have a labradoodle and for whatever reason his ears had big mats on them. This product took the matts out! It took some time and patience, on my part and that of doggy, but it worked! I found that it worked best to work on the edge of the mat first, slowly working on small areas. In my opinion it wouldn't work well to try and use it like a regular brush, making long brush strokes. Stay with the smaller brush strokes and it works great. Also, it has 2 sides, one with 12 teeth and the other with 24. Use the 12 tooth side to start with on the mat.

Angela: I own an border collie and she's got an whole 4 acres to roam woods an all. With the bigger lice that clings to her very thick hair is so bad.
Then, she likes wallar in the yard alot and it really can twist her hair into mats.
So when i received this it had started getting cooler at night. But, I just had to try it. Oh! Woe, mats came out like an breeze. She laid still an this isn't like her at all. She was actually enjoying it. It didn't pull her hair uncomfortably. I guess it felt like an back scratch. It thinned her coat some too. Next day it looked as if hee coat had an shine to it. I could tell she was an Happy little girl.
I would definitely recommend this dematter and comb for your furry babies.

MJ: I personally like the soft gel handle. It’s easier on my hands while I’m working out a matted mess. This is a tool for matted areas. It’s not going to smooth out the entire body. I usually work a specific section and after 7 minutes my ALD walks off. In a couple of hours, I start the process all over again.

E. Langer: I have 2 giant long haired dogs with thick undercoats (Leonbergers). Their coats were neglected because of a serious long term illness to a family member. I wanted a good dematting tool so I could get their coats under control. I found this dematting comb was not up to the task. The dogs have 5 acres to run around in and they keep their property clear of deer, bears and probably cougars which means they go into bush and get sticks tangled in their coats as well. That is a hard task for any tool but this one did not do as well as a plain double toothed rake. Add to that the hole in the handle where the silicone was injected was not sealed and the goop came out on my hand. The tool is still useful as an assist but not as a stand alone tool as I had hoped.
