Gingher 10" Dressmaker Shears (01-005285)

Shane: If you are tired of the flimsy scissors from a distant land made from mystery metal you really need to invest in these. They are solid and cut like a dream, all my old scissors made it to the recycle bucket. I bought a variety of sizes from Gingher that is how much I like them. I have an industrial shop and cut all types of material with these and they are a pleasure to use. Try them you will not be disappointed!!!

Gina L. HIll: I do a lot of sewing, and thought this great big pair of shears would make it easier. They are fabulously sharp and cut like a dream. But, my hands are small, and these hurt my hand to use them for very long. I'm going to save them for really tough jobs, and buy myself an 8 inch pair to see if they fit better. Still, a wonderful product!

Piddler: I have a 45 year old pair of W20 10" Wiss bent shears that have been dropped through the years and no longer cut out to the tips. I decided to replace them with the same model but saw the reviews on the Ginger 10" shears. Just as the Wiss shears they are for cutting heavy materials laid out on a flat surface. These shears feel heavy when you pick them up but that is of little concern in actual appropriate use. I cut some 2" bonded polyester and heavy upholstery material with ease. The 8" Ginger model will probably be more comfortable for some people. The shears look like they will stand the test of time and can be easily sharpened.

Dennis: I wanted a big pair of scissors, and this was it. These 10" scissors are big and have some weight. Very high quality. I know these are for fabric, but I cut what I want. Paper cuts very well. I even had to cut large strip of mousepad material (rubber and fabric), and these cut it very, very well. I could actually leave the mouth open a bit and slide the scissors forward to cut it. These are just great scissors. No reservations on paying a little more but ensure of a great pair of scissors that should last. These 10 inch scissors are definitely larger than a "normal" pair, so if you are not up for that, get the 8 inch version.
