Genuine OEM Craftsman N286039 Air Compressor Drain Valve Part

Robert F: This oem replacement part worked perfectly on my Craftsman 17 gallon uprght compressor. Would prefer a 1/4 turn valve for ease of use so I may look for one.

CML: I bought this item to replace the tank drain valve on my old man's Craftsman pancake 6-Gallon tank compressor. It's referred to as pancake compressor because it's flatter and round than "stand-up" or "hot dog" compressors. This compressor was originally bought at Sears who is now out of business. This part fit perfectly and is a better design than the original!! Make sure you drain your air tank each time when you are finished with it, as the excess condensate left inside the tank will cause rust, which is what I believe caused tthe original valve to eventually fail and no longer hold pressure. Great price and pretty straightforward installation. 9/16 wrench to loosen old one and tighten new one to the tank. Don't overnighter! New valve has insulation on threads to seal. Once treads are seated in hole, you are done! Finger cap works perfectly to release air and re-close after draining.

Lucie S.: Longer than the original. So it made contact with the ground when the compressor was lowered. So found some rubber bumpers that fit under the compressor and now it all works.
