Geninne's Artful Avian Creations: Watercolor, Collage, and Ink

spktme: I purchased a digital copy of this book based on the picture, title, and blurb thinking I was going to get some step by step tutorials to help me create beautiful birds in watercolor, collage, and ink.

Instead this book was filled with the artists work, photos, story, and how she would become inspired then proceed to create a work etc.

Over half the book is done before I hit the first and in a way the only true tutorial at least in my opinion and even it was very sparse. I felt extremely let down by this book the other handful of sort of tutorials were pictures of her work taken in a few steps and then she writes a sentence or two of what she did.

The problem I had was 100% not exaggerating either felt like you could look at the picture and recreate each one without the steps at all. They were that basic paint in watercolor details in acrylic ink for each to finish.

At the end I felt like I wasted my time and money, because lets be honest most of what was included in this book could be found for free on Instagram.

NB: If you’re a fan of Geninne’s work and buying this book to read more about her style, creative process and ways of working - I highly recommend buying this book. If you’re buying it more for the collage sheets, they are not great quality paper and I would say not very useful! I almost returned it for that reason, but I loved reading the content, so I kept it :)

Il libro illustra parte del suo percorso artistico, quella che riguarda l'acquerello ed il collage. Passo passo spiega i passaggi per ottenere un lavoro simile al suo. Il tutto è corredado da splendide immagini della sua casa-laboratorio e della natura circostante che è direttamente fonte d'ispirazione.
Alla fine del testo, immagini che si possono tagliare o fotocopiare, per sperimentare la sua tecnica.
La copertina è giunta un po' stropicciata, ma non ne pregiudica il valore.
