Geek Chef 6-Slice 24QT Convection Air Fryer Toaster Oven - 1700W Countertop Oven

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: I purchased this toaster oven back in February this year when my full-sized oven packed up and I needed something less expensive than replacing it like-for-like. This review is going to sound like a sponsored endorsement, but I’m writing this because I’ve been surprised and impressed by both the unit and the company behind it.

This unit does a lot, and does it well. Toast, bake, fan bake, air-fry, broil, fan broil, warm. The smaller size actually makes all of these functions much more efficient and effective than a full-sized oven.

I mainly use this to make toast. Mundane I know. I do also use it frequently to roast potatoes, vegetables and sausages etc using the wire basket (make sure to place the basket on the roasting tray). It’s perfect for frozen lasagna and pizza too. I did roast a fairly large chicken once, and it did a wonderful job of it, impressive for a bench-top unit.

This month I had an issue with certain functions not working fully. Something that can happen to any appliance. By this point it was well out of the return timeframe. I reached out to the company, Geek Chef, and they really went above and beyond to help me...

rick s.rick s.: We used a smaller 6 quart basket air fryer for a number of months but found the capacity limiting (and kept burning our fingers on the sides) so this 24 quart seemed the obvious choice. Amazon had a good deal going so we rolled the dice since it seemed to meet our needs sizewise and the functionality looked good.

Did it ever! My gf cooked salmon and roasted some veggies (brussels spouts and carrots) and the results were better than the smaller air fryer we'd used for so long. Crispier (but not burnt) veggies faster. The salmon had a nice char on the outside but tender / juicy / perfect on the inside. Better yet, she did both of them at the same time (the old fryer required twice as long because you couldn't cook things on different shelves at the same time.)

The toast function is also a thumbs up. I'd heard warnings on reviews for other air fryer about one side of the bread being cooked and the other not but quickly figured out that by placing the bread on the top grill shelf, the top of the bread got toasted thanks to being closer to the top element and the bottom still cooked just fine since the heat from the bottom element rose and still...

GS25: We were in love with this air fryer. We used it basically everyday. It was a five stars product. But it's only been five months since we purchased it and now it won't turn on.
We also had started to notice some other peculiar things over the past couple of weeks. Sometimes it would turn off before the timer was up. We also had noticed that when we opened the door it would stay on and continue cooking when it never used to do that. When opening the door it would immediately cease until you closed the door again and it was one of our favorite features. But as long as it worked we were able to ignore those little things. However when we tried using it today we noticed that it wasn't turning on at all. We moved it around and tried different outlets as well as checking the breaker but no luck. Incredibly disappointed since we used to highly recommend this air fryer to others because we were absolutely in love. But now we have nothing to show for it. 1 out of 5 stars.

2 weeks update: Had it temporarily repaired and it started to dangerously overheat. So we just gave up on it.
