The GEARWRENCH E-Torx Double Box Ratcheting Wrench is the perfect tool for any job. Its E10 x E12 - 9221 size is conveniently stamped on both ends of the wrench beam for easy identification. This double box ratcheting wrench is designed to make it easy to use, and its off-corner loading design provides a better grip and reduces fastener rounding. This wrench stands out from the competition due to its superior design, packaging, size, and build quality.KA: Bought it for BMW oil housing gasket DIY. It works. But a bit overpriced for a tool.

mark s: Worked perfectly for the job vs a socket or fixed box end

D H: Functionally strong, it handled the torque well. Powerful grip. It was able to grab and hold.

David E.: Good value and seems well made. Time will tell. The heads are really thick and don't fit in every place. This does not replace a socket because of that. But a nice tool to have around!

Scott Hull: I used this to take the rear-facing starter bolt off of my BMW N54 motor (2009 135i). I had to grind off a bit of the edge to fit around the bellhousing bolt. I did the removal from the top of the engine - while all of the intake was off. Another way is a load of extensions and U-joint (swivel heads) to snake a socket around the transmission to the bolt at the top of the transmission - but I opted not to even try that this time and use this ratcheting wrench instead. (I did that on my 1998 E36 M52 starter motor and it was also a nightmare)
The wrench did not fully survive this amount of torque and modification, as this bolt was installed very tight on my engine. After the application of some heat to the bolt and a "cheater pipe" on this wrench, I was able to break the bolt free, but the ratcheting piece is now essentially falling out of the wrench and is basically not serviceable. The cotter pin holding the black socket piece has failed, and the ratcheting is not really working anymore and is almost seized .The unused E10 side is perfectly fine.
To be fair, *this got the job done,* and that's all I needed it for for this very cramped location. But it sure would be nice...

Jack Bauer: Good wrench, fast delivery. As the bit is plastic, I would be worried about cranking it too hard.

Jake: Purchased this to remove my oil filter housing on a bmw e60. Unfortunately the case thickness around the ratcheting E10 was two thick to fit into the tight space however an 8mm ratcheting gear wrench worked fine. Otherwise this is a fine tool

MichaelMichael: Used for a starter replacement on a 2002 M3
Held up to the high torque just fine.
The wrench is quite short, and you are going to wish you had an angle head for this job...since this was what I had to work with, I decided to disconnect the heater core hoses to free up some more space. SEE PICS (cooling system bleed will now be necessary but worth it)
Upper starter bolt once this is positioned onto the Torx Bolt, there is no way of getting a pipe onto the wrench to achieve leverage to loosen it.
Upper bolt solution:
Position the wrench onto the bolt with the wrench facing straight up, and use the S curved Lug bolt wrench in your Trunk Tool kit. and position the S curved Lug wrench around the back side of the tool that is on the Starter Bolt, confirm that the wrench is still secure on the starter bolt, and pull like hell with both sides of the lug wrench towards you,
This was the best way I could break it loose, due to the wrench being so short, and not angled. Remember the only way to gain clearance for this method is to disconnect the high side of the cooling lines. (BEWARE cover holes before disconnecting, as your oil pan has an open hole if you...
