LindaLinda: Purchased this before. The freeze we had in South Texas cracked the housing on the old one. Worked so well I purchased this model again. Nice features and after you play with it it is easy to program. The last one worked well and the electronic controller is still good so I will be looking for a replacement housing for it. Will purchase again if I need one.

Dave:
Got this to replace my DIG that didn't' last long - only had it two years. Solenoid wouldn't turn on the valve.
This works good so far and a lot easier to program. I could never figure the DIG out - but maybe it's because it didn't work from the beginning! I ended up using the DIG for manual watering.

Glenn Ross: Being an avid gardener, I have tried many other brands and types of irrigation timers. These are the most reliable, durable, and useful timers I have ever owned. Having four start times, means you can use them to water seed starts requiring several short duration cycles throughout the day. I have purchased well over a dozen of these, (some under the 'DIG' brand) and the oldest of them, even after more than 10 years continuous use, have only required yearly battery changes. They withstood winter frosts, summers in the 100's, and only required an insulation blanket over them in freezing temps to protect them. The only thing I would NOT do, is install them below ground in an irrigation control box, or anywhere they could become submerged or flooded. They wont survive being submerged, but neither would any other comparable unit. Hands-down, these are the best ones on the market, in my opinion.

Cheryl in SoCal: We live in the Palm Springs Area, and with the combination of desert and California's drought, a drip system is the only answer. The Galcon is easy to read and programing it is simple and intuitive. We keep our potted courtyard and patio plants alive and well with a minimum amount of water. In fact our water bill says we have always stayed in the "EXCELLENT" level in our usage. Easy and reliable and you don't have to drag a hose around to do the job. The battery indicator is easy to see when it warns you that the batteries are getting low. And the batteries last well beyond a year. Saving the planet a few drips at a time.

J. Guerra: I use extensive drip systems to water all my gardens and also to keep my water fountains full at all times, and have never had a problem with the Galcon 7001D controller. I bought the less expensive DIG controller to compare it with the Galcon, and the DIG is not as reliable or as easy to program as the Galcon. The Galcon is significantly superior to the DIG. The DIG controller stopped working correctly after a few months. None of the many Galcons I own have done that.
