Brian McGill: I almost didn't buy it because of the some of the reviews but I'm glad I did. So a few notes:
1) Blowing the ball up. I first tried a battery operated pump I've used successfully for years on other things. At "maximum" inflation I got a tiny little ball that fell through the supporting ring (maybe 14") like some other reviewers report. Then I resorted to reading the directions which said clearly to use the cheap little pump included in the box. It is a foot bellows pump. It worked. It took maybe 5-10 minutes to pump it up, but every push of air went into the ball and did not leak out and soon I had it up to the recommended 22" maximum. I almost went higher because I am tall (6'3") but I didn't because the directions were pretty clear maximum of 22", which brings me to ...
2) Despite being 6' 3" I actually had to let a little air out of the ball from the 22" peak (maybe 1" diameter) to meet the recommended knees at 90 degrees with feet flat on the floor. And I weight 230 lbs. So this ball chair is definitely able to go up to fairly big people. And I have no problem getting my hands comfortable on top of my fairly big old desk to type.
I've only had it for two...

Drjb74: I bought this to replace my desk chair at work. I wanted something comfortable, but would allow me to move around a little bit. Sitting in one place, I feel myself getting antsy, so this chair lets me bounce a little, as well as move front to back and side to side just enough to keep things moving during the day.
The drawback is the wheels that are used for this chair. They have locks on them that are easily triggered with your feet when you sit or stand up. They are also small and so I sometimes have issues on the tile floor in my office. The wheels catch in the grout joints between the tiles, and I have to stand up and physically move the chair. If I was to redesign this, I would look for a sturdier wheel, which has a lock mechanism that is not tripped as easily.
Also, keep in mind that the back support is not intended for normal use. This is not a chair where you would lean back. The instructions even say that the backrest is mainly for support during exercises, if you use the chair for that. Also, keep in mind that if you lean too far forward, you run the risk of pushing the ball backwards, and out from under you... :) I did this in the first hour after using the...

Eileen: I have problems with my leg and movement helps, this chair makes it easy for me to move my legs and hips while remaining productive. I also love the adjustability of the chair.
The wheel locks are a bit annoying, but not too much. The chair back-rest is more like an arm-rest, doesn't come anywhere near my back if I am sitting with the ball centered.and if I try to sit far enough back to be able to touch the back-rest I would ball down the backside of the ball. I don't find this a problem because I never sit at my desk with my back leaning on the back of a chair. I thought about removing the back-rest, but I like using it as a "handle" for moving the chair around when I am not seated (to push it under and out-from-under my desk).
It has helped my posture a little and abdominal area seems a little strengthened (I've had the chair for 6-8 weeks) so that is a bonus I am also enjoying. I can also use the chair to do exercises at my desk for my legs, abdomen and buttocks, which is also a help to my leg pains.
The first chair I received worked well, but one of the wheels didn't touch the floor (they should all touch the floor whether or not you are seated in it), but Amazon...
