The sound is perfect and there are 3 levels of adjustment.

Sheryl Sullivan: I love this fountain and it is a good value. It makes a nice running water background noise in the garden. I also think it is very attractive. The only negative is I have to add water to it daily. I shut it down if I am going to be out of town for more than 24 hours.

Cheryl: This fountain is beautiful. I am so amazed how it fits in the garden and the way the light flickers in the water and the reflection that it casts. C. McClanahan: The fountain arrived packaged well. It’s lighter than it looks. There only assembly needed is attaching the water tubes and the top bowl. There’s no instructions but I found it pretty intuitive. There’s one plug in and no on/off switch. The led lights are on when the fountain is on. The fountain does splash some. I’ve found it depends on how much water is in it. Not too much, not too little. There’s a sweet spot that’s hard to maintain. I have to add water to it pretty frequently with splashing and evaporation. Depending on where you want to place this, the splashing could be a big negative. Mine is outside on the back patio and the water doesn’t hurt anything. The fountain is a really nice size and looks very pretty especially at nigh when it’s lit up.

ibystuffibystuff: This is a simple fountain to assemble. The assembly instructions are not that detailed so you may have to rely on some common sense to assemble. Just tried it out on our outdoor patio. It looks great and operates as represented. The pump is quiet so it is not heard over the sound of the flowing water. The small accent lights give the fountain a nice glow without being overly bright. Plus they can be adjusted for brightness by twisting them to reflect more light to the bottom of the bowl. The fountain is a little bulky to handle by oneself. It fits easily on a two wheel dolly. Use a couple of bungee cords to hold it on the dolly makes it easy to move around. I just bought a fountain cover to use when on vacation or when not using it frequently. If you live in the Midwest then you know a lot of junk falls off the trees during the mid to late Spring. It’s easier to pull a cover off the fountain when you want to use it rather than cleaning all the tree droppings out of the bowls. A switch to turn it off and on would have been a nice feature. I now will either put a small off/on flip switch that plug into the electrical receptacle or have the outside electrical receptacle connected...
