D. Beaty: I bought this to put on my truck seat to make the seat more comfortable and it worked great. I put down two layers of this on the seat and it literally saved my lower back and behind over more than 8000 miles of driving a big rig. An important point is that this foam is dense enough and firm enough to provide the cushioning that is needed to keep your butt properly supported while driving. Using this foam I realized that if you use a softer foam it will not be firm enough to cushion you properly. This foam is firm enough to effectively spread out the force all around your back side. Softer foams will not do it. Softer foams will just crush too easy and spread the force over a smaller area of your butt. It's hard to explain why, but it's true. I'm an engineer and I know. This foam is also very tear resistant and durable. After sitting on it, and handling it, and stretching it during repositioning and getting in and out of the seat hundreds of times it showed no signs of permanent compression or tearing (although I was careful not to tear it). JosephJoseph: The foam it is nice, high density (40 lb)... for other than my purpose I think it will work great. But I wanted for a motorcycle seat on top of a Gel... but if it just too much. I mean adding 1 inch of high density foam to the motorcycle seat its just crazy... it ads cushioning but it "doubles" the size of the seat. I'll be using this for future projects because the foam it feels really nice for itself.
Presentation wise it's just OK... it comes on a vacuum plastic wrap ... you are supposed to allow 24 hours for it to fully expand but... I felt mine was just fully expanded within an hour at most.
