Like many others, I have had bug zappers that only last for a few months. This one has lasted 2 years. Don't waste your money at the big box stores or on other brands.

I use this with an alexa plug (timer): on at dusk, off at midnight. I think this adds to the longevity of the unit.

Tottie: I have spent at least $300 this summer on other mosquito repellent sprays, coils, candles, bracelets, zappers, etc... and nothing has kept us from being chewed up every night until now. This monster is awesome! Very expensive but so worth it to not get eaten alive!

I hate having to spray repellent on myself every night just to be able to enjoy my backyard. Problem is, most of those sprays only work for a very short time! The coils work but you must be right by them. Same with the candles.

We have only had this 2 days and I can already tell a difference. I'm sitting outside writing this review and have not seen any mosquitoes. That's
a first for us!

I highly recommend this product!

Sandy Misare: Great unit which works well and exactly as described. Easily will clear 2 acres with great zapping power. Easy to install and set up. Completely fries bugs so minimal buildup and cleaning necessary. Previously bought a Black and Decker commercial unit from Amazon. It worked less than 24 hours and gave out. No resolution with Black and Decker customer service, so returned. Then bought this unit with no regrets. Expensive, but well worth the price for a solid zapper which works great!

D. CoralD. Coral: The media could not be loaded.  This Flowtron MC9000 is one of my favorite products. What a BEAST of a bug zapper, finally we can BBQ in the back yard by the pool and be free of nuisance bugs! I tried several different top-selling bug zappers which were either too weak or failed prematurely, until I did some more research and found this one. This is the best out there because:

— It is the most powerful residential bug zapper (and even stronger than most commercial units). The grid fries and smokes the bugs, nothing escapes once they fly near the grid. Although it is a max 120W unit, my watt meter measured a very reasonable 84W power draw at rest.

— It blends in nicely with the patio and landscape with the green top and bottom. From a distance it looks kind of like a hanging plant container, so it is pleasing to look at. The UV glow provides some ambient...

TrainingGal74: After several attempts at a decent bug zapper, this one was totally worth the money. You can hear the bugs being zapped from inside the bouse with the doors closed and the carnage left behind overnight is a sight to see. Doesn’t stop working after 10 minutes like previous bug zappers. This one is a keeper.

D. MathenyD. Matheny: Since 2016, I've had 5 of the BK-40D zappers  (Found Here)  - and they've worked extremely well; other than the fact that they're unbelievably unreliable.

The worst part is that the light doesn't ever burn out - but it stops zapping mosquitoes. As a result, the only real way to know it's broken is to wait until you start getting eaten by the little buggers.

When the most recent one stopped zapping, I decided to search for something better and ran across this model from the same company.

It's only been a couple of months; but this MC-9000 has already outlasted the last two BK-40D units. It seems like a much higher quality product, so my hopes are high - and I'll post here if it ends up failing (other than standard maintenance, like the lights needing to be replaced).

In addition to seeming like a higher quality product:

- it's significantly brighter and seems to cover a larger area as a result

- The way the attractant attaches to the bottom is simpler, although it could use a better explanation in the manual

- It doesn't clog up as quickly
